๐Ÿค– More Moments from Anguilla GPT 2026! ๐Ÿš€

Weโ€™re still looking back at some of the amazing moments from this yearโ€™s Robotics Summer Camp, and there are just too many good ones not to share!

Over two weeks, our campers were challenged to Generate. Build. Create. They designed, coded, built, tested, problem-solved, started over when things didnโ€™t work, and celebrated when they finally did. ๐Ÿ’กโš™๏ธ

From robotics and coding to drones, 3D printing, engineering challenges and lots of teamwork, every day gave our young innovators another opportunity to learn by doing.

But some of our favourite moments were the ones in between: the concentration, the teamwork, the excitement of figuring something out, and of course, the smiles! ๐Ÿ’™

Here are a few more snapshots from an unforgettable Anguilla Robotics Association Summer Camp 2026.

๐Ÿ“ธ And yesโ€ฆ we still have more to share!

One of the biggest highlights of this year's ARA Robotics Summer Camp was our Coding & Programming Workshop, expertly led by our partners from Virginia Tech.

Throughout the workshop, campers explored the world of programming using Finch Robots and expanded thier programing knowledge using Edison Robots, learning how to bring code to life through movement, problem-solving, and creativity.

Students programmed their robots to navigate challenges, respond to commands, avoid obstacles, and complete exciting tasks that strengthened their computational thinking and teamwork. Each activity encouraged campers to think like engineers by testing ideas, debugging code, and improving their solutions through trial and error.

The Finch Robots introduced students to more advanced programming concepts, while the Edison Robots gave younger learners an engaging and accessible introduction to robotics and coding. Together, these tools created a hands-on learning experience that inspired confidence and curiosity at every age level.

A special thank you to our incredible Virginia Tech team for sharing their expertise, enthusiasm, and passion for STEM. Your mentorship has inspired the next generation of innovators here in Anguilla.

๐Ÿš Ready for takeoff!

Our campers got hands-on with CoDrones -programmable drones that had them coding, navigating, and flying all on their own. Througha Virginia Tech lead workshop, they started with the basics of how a drone works, then wrote the code to make it move, turn, and take flight. Watching them go from "how does this even work?" to confident little pilots-slash-programmers is exactly what camp is all about. โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ป

A first taste of drones + coding they won't forget โ€” the sky's the limit! ๐ŸŒค๏ธ

The competition was on! โšฝ๐Ÿค–

Our 12โ€“17 age group our largest group of campers put their engineering and programming skills to the test in an exciting FIFA-inspired robotics challenge using REV Robotics kits.

With the guidance of ARA members and STEM educators Mr. Martin, Zamar Auran, and Gabriel, students designed, built, and programmed robots to compete in a custom-built football arena. The objective was simple, but far from easy: score more balls into the goal than your opponent before time ran out.

This challenge pushed our campers to think like real engineers. They had to refine their robot designs, improve their code, test different strategies, and work together to overcome obstacles. Every match brought new lessons in problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience.

Seeing the arena come alive with cheering, friendly competition, and innovative robot designs was a highlight of the camp. Experiences like these show that STEM isn't just about building robots. It's about creativity, critical thinking, and having fun while solving real challenges.

A huge thank you to Mr. Martin, Zamar, Auraun and Gabriel for inspiring the next generation of innovators and making this unforgettable experience possible.

That's a wrap on our 2026 Robotics Camp! ๐ŸŽ‰

For two weeks, our young innovators built, coded, problem-solved, and honestly blew us away. Watching them go from "I've never touched a robot" to presenting their own projects has been the highlight of our summer.

A huge thank you to our partners at Identity Digital, Republic Bank, Virginia Tech and the Government of Anguilla, our amazing instructors, and most of all โ€” the parents who trusted us with your brilliant kids.

"What can five- to seven-year-olds really learn about robotics?"
Someone asked us that last year.

This week, our youngest Future Minds campers answered it for us๐Ÿ’ก

Turns out, quite a lot โ€” and it starts long before a single line of code.

They learned that engineers test, fail, and try again โ€” folding aluminium foil into little boats and racing to see whose could hold the most cargo before it sank. ๐Ÿšค

They learned about colour, water, and prediction, watching liquid "walk" up paper from cup to cup and mix into brand-new colours before their eyes. ๐ŸŒˆ

They learned to plan like builders โ€” sketching their ideas in engineering notebooks first, then bringing them to life with LEGO, gears, and coloured craft sticks. One camper even drew her robot, "Emue," then built it. ๐Ÿค–

And through it all โ€” sharing bricks, cheering each other on, wearing those Build. Code. Create. lanyards with pride โ€” they learned that they belong in STEM. ๐Ÿ’™

This is what capacity building looks like at the ground level: curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving planted early, right here in Anguilla.

Huge thanks to our partners making it possible โ€” Identity Digital, Republic Bank PMAD Programme and MSDE & MICUH โ€” and to the Virginia Tech team and Department of Education - Anguilla Educators and Anguilla Robotics Association -ARAEducators on the ground with our kids every day.

Week 1 down. This is only the beginning. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฎ

๐ŸŽ Investing in Teachers. Investing in the Future. ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ“š

One of the most impactful parts of our Future Minds STEM Exchange wasn't just what our students learned, it was what our teachers experienced.

As part of the Anguilla Robotics Association's delegation to Virginia Tech, our educators stepped into classrooms, innovation labs, makerspaces, and robotics facilities where they explored practical ways to integrate STEM, robotics, engineering, coding, and emerging technologies into everyday learning.

They participated in hands-on workshops, collaborated with faculty, observed innovative teaching methods, and gained first-hand experience using technologies such as robotics, 3D printing, drones, and engineering design challenges.

This wasn't simply professional development. It was an investment in the future of education in Anguilla.

Our teachers are returning home with new skills, fresh ideas, and renewed inspiration to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation.

The knowledge they gained will not only enrich their own classrooms but will also help shape the Anguilla Robotics Association's programmes, our 2026 Summer Robotics Camp, and our continued work to expand STEM education across the island.

Real change begins by empowering educators, because when teachers grow, students thrive.

To our amazing teachers, thank you for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Your willingness to learn today will inspire countless young minds tomorrow.

Together, we're building a stronger foundation for STEM education in Anguilla, one classroom at a time.
