This was my very first ice swimming race, just a few months after I started swimming in late 2017.

And at the end of this carousel… you’ll see something very special.

My first ever swimming medal. 🥉

That medal may look small today, but back then it gave me so much motivation to keep going, train harder, and see how far I could take this sport.

I had no idea where this journey would lead me. ❄️🏊‍♂️

But this was the beginning.

Looking at these photos feels unreal.

This is where everything started.

I was 30 years old when I decided to try something completely new.

I didn’t start in a swimming pool.

I started with ice swimming.

These photos show my first cold water dip, my first swim, my first friends, my first winter swims, my first 200 meters, and my first time stepping into 0°C (32°F) water.

I had no big goals.

I just wanted to see if I could do it.

One small step led to another. Before I knew it, ice swimming became a huge part of my life. It brought me amazing friends, unforgettable adventures, and experiences I never thought were possible.

If someone had told me back then that one day I’d become an Ice and Winter Swimming World Champion and swim some of the world’s toughest open water races, I would never have believed them.

Everything started with one decision.

I was 30.

It’s never too late to start.
