🌍 Tiny dogs … Big Adventurers

Our movie title would probably be “The Fast and the Furious,” because with these two girls there is truly NEVER a moment of stillness … it’s always action and surprises 😂😂

What movie title would best describe your dog’s life?

Our first big hike together: 20 km (12.4 miles) with 800 m (2,625 ft) of elevation gain, most of it packed into just 3 km (1.9 miles). So yes... it was VERY steep and definitely challenging 😅

And what can I say? The girls didn’t seem to notice any of it.
They had the time of their lives from start to finish, and even after reaching our destination they had absolutely no interest in taking a break. Meanwhile, I was very much ready to sit down. 😂

It was such an amazing day, and we’re already planning our next hike in a few days (weather permitting)🏔️🐾

❗️IMPORTANT: Please don’t just head out on a long hike with your dog without proper preparation.
My dogs are used to long distances and a very active lifestyle. We spend time in the forest every day, they walk several kilometers daily, and they’ve built up the endurance and strength needed for hikes like this.

If you’re getting started with hiking and your dog, please keep the following in mind:

🐾 Choose hikes based on your dog’s fitness level, not just your own.
🌡️ Avoid hiking during periods of high summer temperatures.
🌲 Whenever possible, choose routes with plenty of forest cover and shade.
💧 Bring enough water for everyone, or select trails where dogs can safely drink from streams along the way.
🎒 Always have a backup plan in case you’ve overestimated your dog’s abilities. I carried a dog carrier with me just in case. The larger the dog, the more important this becomes … carrying a 30 kg (66 lb) dog back to the car is a very different challenge than carrying a 4 kg (9 lb) Chihuahua.
⚠️ Never push yourself or your dog to the limit. It’s always better to turn around too early than too late. No hike is worth risking injury, heat exhaustion, or needing mountain rescue.
🍖 Bring enough food not only for yourself but also for your dog. This is especially important for small dogs.
🚨 Be aware of the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), particularly in small breeds. Long, demanding hikes require energy, and regular snack breaks can make a big difference.
❤️ Stay safe, hike responsibly, and make sure your dog is having as much fun as mine clearly

And yes, I take my camera with me on pretty much every walk with the dogs. At this point I honestly don’t even know where to put all the files anymore 😂 but I mean… just look at these photos … how am I supposed to not keep taking more and more pictures? They’re simply way too cute 🥺❤️❤️

I thought it was finally time for a little introduction video for our channel.

I hope this video gives all the new people here a better idea of what our account is all about and for all my lovely longtime followers, I hope it’s at least a little fun and nice to watch too.

If there’s anything you’d like to know or any questions you have, feel free to leave them in the comments.

And lastly, a huge thank you to the incredibly kind community that has built up here over time. It honestly makes creating content for this account so much fun, because everyone here is always so respectful and supportive toward each other

Thank you all so, so much ❤️🐺❤️

I can already hear people typing away that their Chihuahua has been a couch potato since puppyhood… and yeah, that might be true. But personally, I always plan for the “worse case scenario.”
And if you’re watching this video thinking “oh my god, these dogs are way too hyper for me,” then maybe reconsider your wish for a Chihuahua puppy and instead give an older Chihuahua a home.

My oldies are 15 years old now and were exactly as crazy when they were young as my current youngsters are … I just expected that from the start and actually wanted it that way because I love being outside everyday.

But I’ll never understand how people who already know they’re not fans of walks, and who don’t really want to go out as soon as it gets cold or wet anyway, decide to get puppies or young dogs and then act surprised that a young dog is actually a lot of work.

Chihuahuas are absolute powerhouses, and especially the first three years can be really intense at times.
So if you’re already stressed just watching this… please don’t get a puppy or young dog.

Give an older dog from a shelter a chance ❤️❤️

I mean seriously, how can you see this and still think: “I don’t like Chihuahuas”?

Properly trained and well exercised, this is exactly how I know them … little clowns who just want lots of cuddles ❤️❤️

If chihuahuas made their own movie trailer …

Sometimes all it takes is a shift in perspective to truly see the personality of the one in front of you.
Chihuahuas are so often looked down on and many people already have a fixed opinion about them before they’ve even met one properly.
But it doesn’t take much to show who they really are. Often, it’s just a simple change of perspective and the willingness to see them for what they are: dogs. Not accessories, not “yappy little rats,” just dogs with real character, emotions, and personality.
People who actually take the time to get to know a Chihuahua usually end up completely falling for them. And I think that says a lot about a breed when people who have spent their whole lives with big dogs suddenly find themselves completely in love and fascinated by Chihuahuas ❤️🐺
