It’s an honour to collaborate alongside someone who leads with such passion, kindness, and purpose.
Karren, is an incredible example of what happens when one person sees a problem and chooses to create a solution instead of accepting it. Adelaide is so fortunate to have someone like Karren leading the way.
I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Jason aka Dj Hob G at Northern Sound System.
I don’t think Jason gets enough recognition for the incredible work he does.
For Adam, DJing is so much more than learning how to mix music. Adam is non-verbal, and music has become one of his ways of communicating with the world. Every lesson is helping him build confidence, independence, communication, community participation and skills that could one day lead to volunteering or supported employment.
Jason has a real gift for recognising Adam’s strengths and creating an environment where he can learn, participate and genuinely enjoy himself. You can see that music isn’t just something Jason teaches, it’s his passion. While he’s also an amazing support worker, his love for music shines through in every lesson.
We’re both part of the Northern Sound System community, and although Jason isn’t part of The Conlan Project team, I wanted to publicly acknowledge the impact he’s having.
Thank you, Jason, for believing in Adam and for creating opportunities that allow him to express himself in a way that words sometimes can’t. The work you’re doing is changing lives, and it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.

The things AI can do these days!
Dhieu has been finding the transition between Chris and me a little tricky. Like many children, he feels more comfortable when he knows what to expect, and because he absolutely loves books, we thought we’d use that to help.
Working alongside his Behaviour Support Practitioner, we created a personalised little storybook that lets Dhieu know who will be supporting him for the day, whether it’s Chris in the black Tesla or me in the white Kia Carnival, and all the fun adventures we might have together before heading home.
Sometimes the smallest, most personalised supports can make the biggest difference.
One thing I’ll never lose, no matter how much The Conlan Project grows, is my love for being a support worker.
As a business owner, it would be easy to spend all my time behind a computer. But getting out into the community with our participants keeps me grounded. It reminds me exactly why I started this journey in the first place. And let’s be honest… Adam’s energy is absolutely infectious.
I’m so grateful to have an incredible team who absolutely shine in what they do, but I still love putting on my support worker hat. It keeps me humble, keeps me connected, and fills my cup in a way nothing else can.
Sometimes the best supports happen together.
Lately we’ve been doing more group community sessions instead of one-on-one supports. It’s a great way to make participants’ NDIS funding go further and tick off NDIS goals while still creating meaningful community experiences, friendships and plenty of fun.
After a long week of school and exams, there was no better way to unwind than a game of mini golf followed by bowling with some of The Conlan crew.

There is something incredibly special about the connection between a person and a horse.
Many of you know that we once had our beautiful Bonnie, who was loved beyond words. When she passed away, a part of us lost the joy of riding too. It was something we weren’t sure we’d ever reconnect with.
Then one of our incredible young people showed an interest in horses.
Watching him, a non-verbal communicator, connect so naturally and confidently with these gentle animals reminded us that communication isn’t always spoken. It’s built through trust, presence, movement and understanding. It was healing for him, but it was healing for us too.
Moments like these are exactly why community collaboration matters.
A huge thank you to Riding for the Disabled Northern Area for the amazing work they do every single day, creating inclusive spaces where people of all abilities can grow in confidence, build connections and simply be themselves.
We are so grateful to collaborate with an organisation that shares our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to find their voice, even when words aren’t needed.
Because at The Conlan Project, we truly believe we are one community. 💚

Last night, I had the privilege of attending the Latino Women’s Awards and receiving recognition for the work we do through The Conlan Project.
I am incredibly grateful for this honour and proud to stand alongside so many inspiring Latina women making a difference in our community.
Thank you to the Latino Women’s Awards team for such a beautiful evening, and congratulations to all of the amazing winners.
Our participant didn’t think we’d actually do the midnight stake out for the Munno Para Revo grand opening.
Pulled up at 12AM for a 7AM opening, held the line, and saved him a spot till he rolled in at 5AM. I also got to chat with Bryce Cotton so I didn’t complaint about being stuck in the cold. 😂
At The Conlan Project, we don’t just talk about community experiences… we commit to the mission.
There is no challenge too big when it comes to making memories.
I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted on socials… but as chaos goes, TCP has been flat out supporting our participants. Here’s what we’ve been doing in the past 2 months. Enjoy 😊
