Hand made rings - made in Australia

From rough surface to a clean, refined finish.

Using a silicone diamond wheel, I slowly work across the metal to remove deeper marks, smooth out uneven areas, and prepare the ring for the final polishing stages.

This part of the process is all about control. Too much pressure can change the shape, too little won’t remove the marks — so every pass has to be deliberate.

It’s one of the most satisfying stages because you can literally watch the surface transform from raw and scratched into something smooth, sharp and ready to shine.

Still not the final polish yet — but this is where the finish really starts to come together.

Slowly bringing the surface to life.

The silicone diamond wheel helps refine the metal one pass at a time — smoothing out scratches, evening the surface and cleaning up the details before the final polish.

It’s not the flashy part of jewellery making, but it’s one of the stages that makes the biggest difference. The cleaner the preparation, the better the final finish.

Just steady hands, patience, and a lot of small adjustments until everything feels right.

The finish starts long before the final polish.

Using a silicone diamond wheel, I gradually smooth the surface, remove tool marks, refine the edges and prepare the ring for the next stage.

It’s a small part of the process, but it makes a huge difference to the final result. Every pass cleans the surface a little more and brings the piece closer to that crisp, polished finish.

Simple, repetitive, precise — and probably one of the most satisfying parts to watch.

One of the most important stages of making a ring happens long before the final polish.

Filing is where the shape really starts to come alive — refining the profile, correcting every line, softening the right areas, sharpening the others, and slowly bringing the design closer to its final form.

It’s repetitive, precise work, but this is where a rough piece begins to feel intentional.

No machines doing the thinking. No shortcuts. Just time, patience, and careful handwork at the bench.

Still a work in progress, but getting closer with every pass of the file.

There’s something satisfying about watching a piece slowly take shape.

No shortcuts — just careful filing, refining every edge, curve and surface by hand until the form feels exactly right.

This is one of those quiet stages of jewellery making where a rough piece starts becoming something worth wearing.
