So Grateful to Stuart and Emma for allowing us to showcase their AdventurEV campervan at the Everything Electric show this weekend.

This is the very First EV campervan to cross the country and the Nullabour back in 2025. Nice to be part of a little piece of history.

Two campervans, same battery size.

One cruises coastal Queensland at 90km/h with light gear and comfortably hits 420km. The other loads up for an outback run in 38-degree heat and plans for 310km.

Both numbers are correct. Both are worth knowing before you lock in a platform.

Range is the first question almost every EV campervan buyer asks. The spec-sheet number is a starting point.

Five real-world factors shape your touring range in Australia:

⚡ Speed. Sitting on 110km/h uses noticeably more energy than 90km/h. Highway cruising is where range drops fastest.

Weight and fitout. Every kilo of build, water, gear and passengers changes the maths. A heavy touring layout works harder than a light weekender.

Temperature and AC. 38-degree days with the aircon working, or cold mornings with cabin heating, both pull from the same battery.

Terrain and elevation. Climbing the Great Dividing Range is different from flat runs across the Hay Plain. Regen helps on the way back down.

Charging network on your route. Real range is about the gap between chargers. Chargefox, Evie and NRMA sites shape what a realistic day looks like.

Together, these can shift real-world range by 20–30%. That is why we don't hand buyers a single number and call it done.

At AdventureEV, we build around how you actually travel. Coastal weekends and outback touring are different jobs, and the right battery platform depends on the roads you drive, the load you carry, and the network you rely on.

Our 2026 Supervan program is built on a 106kWh battery platform with a 400km+ target range, designed around those five factors from day one.

If you're thinking about a custom electric campervan, now is the time to start the conversation.

Choosing the right battery platform depends entirely on your personal touring style. ⚡

The 83kWh platform on our 5.5m chassis is designed for regular coastal loops, weekend escapes, and trips where charging infrastructure is reasonably accessible. It offers a lower entry cost and a lighter vehicle weight.

This setup is best for:
• Regular short-to-medium touring near the coast or powered sites
• Quick weekend getaways
• Travellers who prefer a more compact 5.5m footprint

The 106kWh platform on our 6m Supervan is built for those who want a 400km+ target range, more interior space, and fewer compromises on ambitious regional routes.

This setup is best for:
• Longer distance touring across Australia
• Remote-leaning routes with fewer charging points
• Extended time away from fast chargers

At AdventureEV, we focus on building custom electric campervans around how you plan to travel.

The spec sheet says 400km, but your actual road trip might look very different.

When you're loaded up and heading north in the Aussie summer, real-world touring range is shaped by factors most people only discover once they hit the road. ⚡

At AdventureEV, we want you to travel with genuine confidence, which is why we focus on real-world capabilities.

Swipe through to see the three main factors that actually shape your range:

• Weight and fitout: Carrying extra water, gear, and bikes adds hundreds of kilograms, which can reduce highway range by 15% to 20%.

• Driving speed: Cruising at 110km/h uses significantly more energy than sitting at 90km/h on a scenic coastal route.

• Terrain and weather: Climbing hilly terrain with the air conditioning running hard in summer uses far more battery than a flat run in mild weather.

Once you understand these variables, the number on your spec sheet becomes a practical starting point rather than a mystery.

At AdventureEV, we design our custom builds around these exact realities, offering robust setups like our 106kWh battery platform with a 400km+ target range.

If you're thinking about a custom electric campervan, now is the time to start the conversation. 🚐
