Freedom Built is a Canberra-based custom home builder specialising in knockdown rebuilds and design and construct, owned and operated by Mark, a carpenter by trade with more than 16 years' experience under his belt. Born and bred in Canberra, we design and build homes tailored specifically to the climate and planning frameworks of the ACT. Sustainability is integrated directly into our construction methods. Our homes are built to a higher standard, using advanced insulation, airtightness, and vapour-permeable materials that allow the structure to breathe. This approach guards against internal condensation and mould, creating a dry, healthy internal living environment that also reduces running costs. Our process relies on early builder involvement. By designing to be built and building as designed, we stress-test every decision against budget, buildability, and performance before construction begins. This rigorous, highly detailed documentation is what allows us to offer a genuinely fixed-price contract with no hidden surprises. Because we deliberately limit the number of projects we take on at any one time, our clients stay close to Mark and a small, consistent team throughout the build, which keeps communication clear and the process transparent. After making the bold career change from hairdressing to construction, she discovered a passion for creating something tangible and seeing the results of her hard work come to life.
