Few Australian flowers possess quite the drama of the waratah. In Crimson Waratah, its spectacular bloom fills the base of the ginger jar, unfolding in layers of intense red against deep, smouldering colour.
Painted in Moorcroft’s flambé style, the design uses glowing reds, burgundy and subtle flashes of cooler colour to give this iconic Australian flower an almost fiery intensity. A striking piece with a commanding presence.

Shape 7/10
Issued in a Limited Edition of 25 pieces only
Issued with special Australian Exclusive backstamp
Approx 26cms (10") tall
Designer: Emma Bossons
Price $4150
Gliding across still water, the black swan is one of Australia’s most elegant native birds and an enduring emblem of Western Australia - but also seen in other states. On Graceful Waters, its sweeping neck and beautifully layered dark plumage take centre stage, surrounded by cool watery blues and the vivid red of eucalyptus flowers.
The rounded vase form lends itself naturally to the swan’s graceful silhouette, while Moorcroft’s tubelining picks out the pattern and texture of its feathers.
This piece will feature a special Australian Exclusive backstamp and be signed by Will Moorcroft. Secure yours by contacting Roundabout Antiques, Moorcroft Pottery Accredited Retailer by phone 0417 714105 or email [email protected]

A very special Moorcroft announcement
While we have been challenged with Robert's medical issues in recent months (2 surgeries on his larynx over 8 weeks) - we have been working in the background with Moorcroft - on a collection of Australian Exclusives that will be released and available for purchase in coming months. About a year ago we thought Moorcroft was "gone" forever - so being able to offer another Australian Exclusive selection is quite remarkable! The company is back up off the canvas and delivering stunning Art in Pottery - and as the images below show - better than ever!
Will Moorcroft will be touring Australia in November - but unfortunately due to Robert's ongoing throat recovery and still experiencing difficulty speaking for any period - we have elected not to host an event - as we know that Robert would not be able to talk to all of the customers on the day. Robert's throat problems are quite serious - if the lumps aren't removed successfully NOW - the next step for him is botox injections in his larynx which would see him not being able to speak for a period of 6 months - an Antique and Collectables Dealer that can't talk - that would be very crippling emotionally, financially and business wise.
We will however have these pieces available for you to purchase - they are not yet on the website so you will need to either call or email us (if calling Robert will be as softly spoken and brief as he can be!).
Due to technological advancements - we even have little videos of the items - should you need to see it closer in a virtual sense before making a decision - these can be emailed to any interested party.
A full feature about these pieces is in tomorrows newsletter - so if you haven't yet signed up to receive the Newsletter - today is the day!

Design Backstory
As a key Australian Retailer for Royal Doulton products in the 2000s through to late 2010's we hosted many Royal Doulton Collector Roadshow events - with Michael Doulton making an appearance. In 2009 the prototype of this piece was brought to our Michael Doulton event and we spotted an error straight away - the original design featured a purely Australian Red Cattle dog with the sheep - and as every good aussie knows cattle dogs and sheep don't mix real well (the cattle dog is bred to knock the legs out from under cattle to control them - but this doesn't work with sheep!). A change was needed to the prototype on our families advice to WWRD - and a border collie or Australian Kelpie was needed to make the design "authentic". As proud Australian Kelpie owners at the time (our Kelpies name was Taylor - a RSPCA rescue dog - god rest her soul) - photos of her in our backyard were used as a model for the development of this piece - even down to her red collar - she also appears on the G'Day Mate tableau - a design we conceptualised from scratch!

We purchased quite a large Bunnykins collection last week - and this one [now SOLD] brought back a heap of good memories - as our family actually came up with the concept, pitched it to Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton Australia - and had it produced in a Limited Edition of 500 pieces!

Design Backstory
In the early days of the internet - before ebay and PayPal - we were one of the first online sellers of collectables "online" via our own website. Our global reach brought many American customers to call us to pay for purchases - and at the time, the height of popularity of Steve Irwin on US TV - many of the American customers would want to commence a phone conversation with us using "G'Day Mate" and they wanted to know whether they got the pronunciation right!
It made us reflect on what an iconic depiction of G'Day Mate should look "like" - and the concept became an idea that was put to the executives of WWRD Australia - who thought the idea was superb - but what did G'Day mate actually look like?
Our uniquely Australian depiction of two Aussie Farmers complete with Akubras and Drizabones - chin wagging over the post and rail fence with kookaburas, an emu stealing the mail and a wombat looking on - with a kelpie (a tribute to our dog, Taylor) in the foreground - and the concept was put into design sketches by Wendy Boyce -Davies - and one of the true iconic Australian Exclusive Bunnykins of a uniquely Australian greeting was born!
