RMS Traders was established in Melbourne in 1984 with a mission to provide the highest quality natural stone at the best price. Starting as a small family business, importing slate from India and Portugal to Australia, we have now, 35 years on, expanded to sourcing products from all over the world including limestone, marble, slate, travertine, sandstone, terrazzo, granite and bluestone (basalt). We have built inspirational showrooms in Melbourne and Geelong, with design concepts and extensive product ranges, such as our ever-expanding portfolio of rock walls and feature panels. We understand that each one of our customersâ journeys is as different and unique as the natural stone we provide. We pride ourselves on years of garnered knowledge, expertise and passion. Our staff are all highly trained and ready to offer only the best industry insight, advice and tips. We can help you with your selection and are up to date with current trends and styles. If youâre having trouble executing your design ideas, weâre also more than happy to help you identify what products, designs and finishes will work best for you. There is a quiet art to designing spaces that invite you to slow down.
At Nunga House, the boundary between shelter and sanctuary dissolves entirely. Looking out through floor-to-ceiling glass, past the quiet warmth of exposed timber beams and rich interior tones, the eye lands on an outdoor landscape that feels less like a garden and more like a permanent, sun-drenched escape.
True luxury in landscape design is never accidental; it is a exercise in deep intention. How an outdoor space is curated must directly honour how it is meant to be lived in.
It is about crafting distinct micro-environments tailored to human ritual, from quiet, solitary mornings with an open book to long, unhurried afternoons spent by the pool.
At the foundation of this outdoor living space is RMS Traders Tuscan Travertine Crazy Paving. Underfoot, the organic, irregular contours of the stone gently break up the clean architectural lines of the build. Stone chosen for outdoor living must balance effortless elegance with raw resilience: it grounds the space, absorbs the golden afternoon light, and offers a smooth, tactile texture under bare feet after a swim.
Paired alongside sculptural palms, potted cacti, and a sparkling blue water feature, the pale, sun-bleached tones of the travertine create a seamless visual bridge between the interior salon and the terrace.
Every element from the cool pool deck to the shaded lounge area has been thoughtfully selected to serve a purpose, elevating everyday moments into something sensory and romantic.
When your landscape is curated around the way you truly live, stepping outside doesn't feel like leaving the house, it feels like arriving.

Swipe to explore the refined material palette behind The Pool House.
Every surface in this space was selected to evoke a quiet, modern luxury. Grounding the pool deck is our Premium Bluestone with a sawn finish, chosen for its soft tactile feel underfoot and essential slip resistance along high-traffic pool edges.
What gives this stone its distinctive character is the natural âcat pawâ patterning. These organic volcanic fissures bring subtle depth, texture, and authenticity to the surface, ensuring no two pavers are quite alike.
Framed with matching drop-face bluestone pool coping, the transition from stone to water is smooth, clean, and effortlessly elevated.
Built to endure the harsh Australian elements while maintaining a timeless aesthetic, this is poolside design at its finest.

At RMS Traders, we believe that the foundation of any breathtaking architectural project starts from the ground up. For this stunning alfresco haven, the visionaries behind the design turned to a timeless, durable classic: our Premium Bluestone.
Wandering through this space, youâll immediately notice the grounding, organic energy that only natural stone can bring. The deep, moody charcoal and blue-grey tones of the Premium Bluestone pavers provide a sophisticated, architectural contrast against the vibrant, crystal-clear blue of the pool and the lush, layered greenery surrounding the property.
Itâs a colour palette that feels simultaneously contemporary and completely at one with nature.
But what truly elevates this poolside sanctuary is the seamless integration of our Premium Bluestone Pool Coping. Wrapping elegantly around the water's edge, the coping offers a sleek finish and a gentle, tactile surface.
It beautifully highlights those gorgeous, naturally occurring âcatâs pawâ details (the unique organic pitting that makes authentic bluestone so highly coveted), providing a safe, non-slip embrace around the pool. It practically invites you to sit on the edge, dip your toes in, and soak up the afternoon sun with a glass of w**e in hand.
The Pool House isnât just a place to swim; it is a lifestyle destination.
It speaks to long summer afternoons that stretch into balmy twilights, weekend entertaining with friends, and finding a slice of five-star, resort-style tranquillity right in your own backyard. It is living proof that when you pair visionary design with natureâs finest materials, the result is nothing short of spectacular.

Perched high above the mouth of the Erskine River on the traditional lands of the Gadubanud People, the Deans Marsh House captures an uninterrupted panoramic vista extending across Louttit Bay to the iconic Lorne Pier.
Designed by Josh Crosbie Architects and masterfully built by Howley Construction, this coastal residence translates a complex, highly exposed site into a quiet masterclass in spatial intelligence and refined modern luxury.
Navigating a steep, sloping block bound by busy roadways above and below presented a distinct architectural challenge: securing sanctuary without compromising on breath-taking coastal views. The design response settles the home deep into the native terrain across two cascading levels. This subterranean anchoring acts as both an acoustic buffer and a visual shield from surrounding transit, establishing an atmosphere of total privacy that opens effortlessly toward the ocean horizon.
The material palette serves as the primary bridge between the built form and its surrounding environment. Clean structural bands of rich hardwood timber frame the elevation, paired with the earthy, tactile presence of Ammos Limestone natural stone wall cladding supplied by RMS Traders.
Rather than imposing itself on the topography, the dwelling recedes into the hillside, using natural textures that weather gracefully alongside the coastal elements while framing framed views of the sea from every principal room.
Softened by native garden integration, the landscape and architecture operate in total synergy, ensuring the building feels as though it has always belonged to this dramatic headland.

Introducing Porcelia, some of the latest technology in stonemasonry, architecture and construction.
Natural stone's veining creates inherent planes of weakness, making conventional stone vulnerable to the concentrated point loads applied by pedestal supports.
Porcelia changes that by permanently bonding a genuine 5mm natural stone surface to an 18mm porcelain backing, combining the beauty and authenticity of natural stone, with the structural reliability required for pedestal installations.
Introducing Cristallo Mocha Quartzite.
Showcasing a rich blend of warm mocha coffee and soft taupe tones, this stone is highlighted by intricate crystalline movement that flows throughout it.
Intended for both interior and exterior use, the quartzite is perfect for fireplaces, splash backs, bench tops, bathroom cabinetry and walls or for use in alfresco spaces.

The Design Language of Paving
Before the furniture, decor and finer details, there is the foundation beneath them. In design, paving can shape a space as much as the elements that surround it. The colours, texture, and movement of natural stone influence the ambience and the way an environment feels.

The flooring in this stunning Park Orchards home features both our silver travertine tiles and silver travertine crazy paving.
Silver travertine tiles create a uniform smoothness to contrast against the zigzag of cream coloured brickwork and natural timber hues.
While silver travertine crazy paving offers the same hue with more energy to blend across the threshold and into outdoor spaces.
This considered blend encourages occupants to slow down and connect with the textures of the home, drawing the eye naturally outward to embrace the ease of indoor-outdoor living.
