What an accountant needs at lodgement, and what slows the job down:

Accounts reconciled to 30 June
Expenses coded consistently
Payroll finalised and super reconciled
Loans, drawings and owner payments clearly identified
Records ready for anything unusual, before they have to ask

The tidier it arrives, the less it costs you.

Message me and I will get it ready.

31 October is the deadline to lodge your own tax return. In 2026 it falls on a Saturday, so the first business day after is Monday 2 November.

If you would rather an accountant lodged it, the ATO says to contact them before 31 October to be part of their lodgment program.

Either way it starts with records your accountant can work from.

I get those ready. Message me.

Payroll is the part of the books where errors cost the most and surface the latest.

Wrong award rates, late super, incorrect reporting. None of it announces itself at the time.

I take payroll off your plate and keep it compliant. Message me.

Seven business days is tighter than it sounds.

The clock starts on payday, not when you press send
It stops when the fund receives the money, not when it leaves your account
A clearing house sits in the middle and takes time
Weekends and public holidays are not business days
If you pay weekly or fortnightly, this repeats constantly

Message me if you are not confident the timing works.

If 28 October is still in the calendar as the day super gets paid, that date is gone.

Payday Super started on 1 July 2026. The final quarterly payment was the June quarter, due 28 July.

Super now has to be received in your employees super accounts within 7 business days of each payday. Received by the fund, not sent by you.

Every pay run has its own deadline. There is no quarter end to catch up at.

I set payroll up so this happens on time, every run. Message me.

Lodging BAS on time, every quarter, without errors.

That is what I do for my clients.

No scrambling for missing transactions. No guessing on GST. No last-minute panic.

πŸ“© If BAS is something you would rather hand off, message us.

GST errors are one of the most common reasons businesses get flagged by the ATO.

The ones I see most often:
βš™οΈ Incorrect GST settings in accounting software
πŸ“‚ Claiming GST on expenses that are not eligible
πŸ“Š Transactions coded to the wrong category
πŸ’³ Missing records to support a claim

Accurate bookkeeping throughout the year means fewer errors at BAS time.

πŸ“© Message us if you want a second opinion on your setup.

09/08/2026

Monthly BAS is due on 21 August.

And from this year, the ATO is using expanded data-matching to automatically compare your BAS against other financial information.

Errors get flagged faster than before.

If your BAS is based on accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping, you have nothing to worry about.

πŸ“© we prepare and lodge BAS for clients. Message me.

If your books are still behind from the last financial year, tax return time is going to be stressful.

The October lodgement deadline is closer than it looks.

I help businesses catch up quickly:
βœ”οΈ Reconcile accounts
βœ”οΈ Categorise and clean up expenses
βœ”οΈ Get reports ready for your accountant

πŸ“© Message us to get started.
