Calming Waves Support Services is looking for a reliable, genuine and committed Support Worker to join our growing team.

We’re not just looking for someone who can fill a shift.

We’re looking for someone who actually wants to make a difference in someone’s life. Someone who builds genuine connections, celebrates the wins, supports people through the hard days and understands the responsibility that comes with being someone our participants can depend on.

Reliability is extremely important to us.
Our participants rely on their support workers. When you commit to a shift, there is a person and often an entire family depending on you to show up.

We’re looking for someone who:
✨ Is reliable and punctual
✨ Provides genuine and accurate availability
✨ Is prepared to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays
✨ Understands that once you commit to regular or rostered shifts, we expect you to honour that commitment
✨ Doesn't suddenly become unavailable for shifts they've already agreed to work
✨ Communicates early and honestly if circumstances change
✨ Is proactive and can use initiative rather than needing constant direction
✨ Can build genuine, professional relationships with participants and their families
✨ Is comfortable supporting people with varying and sometimes complex needs
✨ Brings patience, humour, compassion and a positive attitude to work
✨ Understands that disability support is about people – not just hours on a roster

ABOUT CWSS

Calming Waves Support Services is a family-owned disability support provider based in Pakenham. We pride ourselves on doing things differently.

We want our participants to have opportunities, experiences, independence, friendships and a life that is genuinely meaningful to them.

Our supports can include community access, daily living, social activities, skill development, individual supports, group programs, holiday programs and plenty of adventures along the way.

You will need:
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• First Aid & CPR
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Appropriate vehicle insurance
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• The ability to meet relevant employment and compliance requirements
• Experience in disability support is highly regarded

Most importantly, you need to want to be here.

And if you’re neurodivergent too? You’re just as welcome. There’s no pressure to make conversation, join in or mask. Come exactly as you are.

🔫🎯 LASER RAIDERS MISSION COMPLETE! 🎯🔫

Thursday was all about laser tag, friendly competition and a whole lot of fun! 🚨

The group took on a range of different laser tag games, putting their teamwork, strategy and skills to the test as they battled it out to see who could beat their peers!

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, so we had to move the action indoors. A huge thank you to Cardinia Life for helping us out and allowing us to hire a court at the last minute!

While the kids may not have got the full outdoor laser tag experience they were hoping for, they certainly didn’t let that stop them! They still had an absolute ball, running around, competing, laughing and getting stuck into every challenge.

Mission complete. Fun level: MAXIMUM! 🚀🎯

For Chance, CWSS is somewhere he can show up exactly as himself — humour, banter, “stupid names” and all. A place where relationships are real, personalities are celebrated, and support doesn’t have to feel clinical.
Because sometimes feeling supported looks a lot like laughing until your stomach hurts. 💙

Behind Beau’s very unique terminology is something pretty special — trust. Having someone you feel safe talking to, who understands how your brain works and helps you navigate the hard stuff without judgement.
Support doesn’t always need fancy words. Sometimes it’s simply having your favourite “mental person” in your corner. 💙

When you’re nine, this is basically a five-star review. ⭐️
We want our kids to look forward to coming to CWSS — to play, explore, try new things, make friends and create memories while being supported by people who genuinely enjoy spending time with them.
Because childhood should be full of fun, adventure and places you can’t wait to come back to. 💙

From bouncing on the trampoline to exploring caves, Reihana reminds us exactly what our programs are supposed to be about — trying new things, having adventures and building relationships with people who make you feel safe and welcome.
The best support creates memories without kids even realising they’re being ‘supported’.

Apparently annoying Danni is now an officially recognised CWSS program activity. 😂
But underneath the stirring is exactly what we hope our teens find here — genuine friendships, trusted adults, fun experiences and somewhere they actually want to spend their time.

🏎️🔫 Go Karts & Laser Tag! 🔫🏎️

Definitely one of our holiday program favourites!

The crew had an absolute blast racing around the track, getting competitive with the go karts and battling it out in laser tag. Plenty of laughs, teamwork and a little bit of friendly competition!

Another awesome day filled with fun, adventure and memories!
