Our CEO Angie had a blast last night at Impact100 WAโs Impact in the Spotlight! Angie spoke about the incredible difference Impact100 grants have made to Midlas, particularly in helping to establish our Health Justice Partnership with St John of God Midland Public & Private Hospitals.

Thank you for having us! We hope you were able to pick up a trick or two from our energy coaches to implement at home and get those power bills down ๐
Our CEO, Angie, recently spoke with ABC Perth Radio Mornings host Nadia Mitsopoulos about the growing number of family and domestic violence matters before the Courts each day and the pressure this places on community legal services, diverting valuable lawyer capacity from supporting clients with other legal matters.
Angie's comments are grounded in what our team sees every day in local courts, where our duty lawyers provide legal advice and assistance to people applying for Family Violence Restraining Orders.

๐ฌ Feedback Friday
Thereโs nothing more meaningful than hearing directly from the people we support.
We recently received this wonderful feedback from a client who was incredibly grateful for the assistance they received from our Tenant Advocate, Diluk, with their priority housing application.
We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all clients who take the time to share their feedback with us.
Your feedback helps us learn, grow and continually improve the support we provide to our community ๐

โ๏ธ Sometimes, a cuppa is the beginning of an important conversation.
Today is R U OK? Day, a national day of action dedicated to su***de prevention and meaningful connection.
Our CEO Angie, and her very special helper, her nan, have been hard at work putting together little tea and biscuit packs for our clients, and R U OK? booklets and coffee vouchers for our staff. Having a cuppa or coffee with someone can create space for the conversations that matter.
R U OK? founder Gavin Larkin believed that in the time it takes to have a cuppa, you could have a conversation that could change a life.
You don't have to be certain that someone is struggling before you reach out. If you've noticed a change, have a feeling that something isn't quite right, or find yourself wondering how someone is really going, trust your instrincts and ask.
๐ฌ Ask R U OK?
๐ Listen without judgement
๐ค Encourage action and support
โ๏ธ Check in again
And while R U OK? Day is a wonderful reminder to check in, we can have these conversations any day.
So grab a cuppa, sit with someone you care about, and start the conversation.
If you're thinking it, ask R U OK? Any Day ๐
๐ข Please note that our office will be closed on Thursday, 17 September to allow our staff to engage in team-building activities.
When we have a strong team, we are better equipped to support the community we serve. By investing in our staff and the way we work together, we hope to continue providing the best possible support to our clients and the wider community.
We look forward to seeing you when normal business resumes on Friday, 18 September ๐

This week is National Su***de Prevention Weekโa time to come together, raise awareness and support one another.
According to Lifeline, around one person loses their life to su***de every day in Western Australia. Behind this statistic are families, friends, colleagues and communities deeply affected by loss.
This week reminds us that even small actions can make a difference. Checking in with someone, starting a conversation and simply asking, โR U OK?โ could mean more than you realise.
Letโs look out for one anotherโnot just this week, but every day. ๐
