From the yarn to graduation 🎓🖤💛❤️
A little while ago, Boorloo Labour Managing Director David Jones spent some time with the Koomba Birdal Program students, sharing a yarn about his own journey, opportunities within construction and the importance of backing yourself.
This week, he was lucky enough to join them again but this time to celebrate their graduation. 🙌🏽
A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the program and reached this milestone. It’s been great to see these young people progress through their training, and we can’t wait to see where their next steps take them.
A big thank you to Erin Teasdale, Richard Watson, Rachel Willis, the lecturers and everyone behind the Koomba Birdal Program for the work that goes into creating opportunities like these.
Deadly work, graduates. 👏🏽

Business is built through relationships.
For Boorloo Labour, showing up matters.
It means being in the room, having conversations, listening, learning and building genuine relationships across industry.
Whether it’s connecting with other Indigenous businesses, industry partners or organisations looking for better workforce outcomes, these conversations are an important part of how we continue to grow Boorloo.
Because opportunities rarely start with a transaction.
More often, they start with a conversation.
Respect. Culture. Opportunity.

Good labour hire starts well before someone arrives on site.
It’s about understanding the person, the role and the environment and staying connected once the placement is made.
That’s how we work at Boorloo.
Respect. Culture. Opportunity.

Connections, conversations and opportunity at Connect 2026.
Boorloo Labour Director David Jones spent the past two days at Supply Nation’s Connect 2026 in Boorloo (Perth), joining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, corporate organisations and government representatives from across Australia.
Held on Whadjuk Country, Connect is Supply Nation’s flagship Indigenous business event and this year’s theme, ‘Journey’, provided a fitting backdrop for two days focused on progress, growth, resilience and opportunity.
For Boorloo Labour, events like Connect are an important opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, share experiences with other Indigenous businesses and continue conversations with organisations committed to genuine supplier diversity and Indigenous participation.
There were plenty of familiar faces, new connections and valuable conversations across the Knowledge Forum, networking opportunities and Indigenous Business Tradeshow.
As an Aboriginal-owned WA business, we’re proud to be part of a growing Indigenous business sector and to continue building partnerships that create meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
A big thank you to Supply Nation and everyone involved in bringing Connect 2026 together and to everyone who had a yarn with David over the two days.

Boorloo Labour Director David Jones recently attended the WA DEFENCE REVIEW Industry Networking Event in Victoria Park, connecting with representatives from across defence and the wider WA business community.
For Boorloo, events like these are about more than networking - they’re an opportunity to strengthen relationships, understand what’s happening across the sector and continue conversations around workforce capability and participation.
As an Aboriginal-owned WA business supporting defence, civil and commercial projects, we’re proud to keep building genuine industry partnerships while creating employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across WA.
Thanks to WA DEFENCE REVIEW for bringing together another great cross-section of WA industry.

Reflecting on NAIDOC 2026.
Earlier this month, our Director, David, attended the Mirrabooka NAIDOC celebrations alongside his children, taking the opportunity to connect with community, celebrate culture and spend time with people who continue to strengthen and share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, traditions and stories.
For us, NAIDOC Week is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of the importance of listening, learning and building genuine relationships that continue long after the celebrations have ended.
As a proudly Noongar-owned business, we’re grateful to everyone who welcomed us, shared conversations and made this year’s Mirrabooka celebration such a memorable day.
Thank you to everyone who continues to strengthen culture, create opportunities and inspire future generations.

Boorloo Labour is proud to sponsor Gina’s Dream Team - a netball club created in honour of Georgina (Gina) Kickett, a respected young Aboriginal woman whose passion for the game and support for others left a lasting impact on her community. Established by Gina’s family in 2008, the team continues to carry forward her values of dedication, teamwork, and lifting each other up.
Eight years on, Gina’s Dream Team has grown into a strong multi‑grade club, with A through D grade teams achieving state titles and consistent success. This year, the A‑grade side is competing for its sixth straight trophy, a testament to the heart and spirit the team was built on.
Boorloo Labour is excited to support a team that champions the next generation of girls, creating a welcoming space where players feel confident, supported, and proud to represent Gina’s legacy.

The week ends. The commitment continues.
As NAIDOC Week comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who took the time to celebrate, learn, listen and reflect alongside communities across Australia.
While the week may be ending, the opportunity to build understanding, strengthen relationships and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continues every day.
At Boorloo Labour, our commitment extends beyond NAIDOC Week. We're proud to continue creating opportunities, fostering respectful partnerships and walking alongside the communities we serve.

Thank You.
As NAIDOC Week continues, we take a moment to acknowledge and thank the Elders, communities, knowledge holders and all those who continue to share and protect the world's oldest living cultures.
Thank you for preserving language, passing on knowledge and strengthening culture for future generations.
As a proudly Noongar-owned business, we recognise that there is always more to learn, and we're grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn and walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with respect.
