Packaging...it's a necessary evil! We want people to know how to use and how to care for our products but it's sometimes too much hey!

I thought I would show you what I mean. Two orders of 5 pack Olive Food Pouches, picked and ready to package up in our kraft mailers. With 1 information card per order. That's pretty minimal right?!

Hate waste?! We can all start with reducing our food waste. Plan, use or freeze leftovers, be mindful of every scrap of food going in my bin. A few pics of how 4MyEarth helps me reduce my food waste.

I love Guacamole, everyone makes it differently but here's my go to :

Pop cut and deseeded ripe Avo's in a bowl and mash with a fork, I like some chunky bits.
Add in fresh lime juice, diced deseeded ripe tomatoes - mini roma or grape tomatoes go well.
Then add in chopped coriander, chopped pickled jalapeno slices, chopped red onion, minced garlic and sea salt.
Fold it all together with a fork.
Taste and adjust lime/salt/garlic.

Popping the Avo stones back into the bowl may help prevent browing - it is best served straight away
Enjoy - Oh and if you don't use the whole Avo, pop a 4MyEarth Avo cover on it, will keep it fresh in the fridge!

Reducing single use plastic in addition to avoiding food waste is something we are very conscious of in our home.

Some tips to avoid food waste :
Place fruit & veggies in the cripser baskets in your fridge 🍎
Freezing leftover bread, we slice it up first 🍞
Carrot sticks for morning tea are still fresh after school if they've been in a Snack Bag (Pocket)
Keep the stone in a cut Avocado - and pop it in a Mini Food Cover - lasts for days 🥑
Covering leftovers with our Food Covers to be eaten at another time 🍝
Pop Mini Food Covers over cheese packets etc - items that would spoil if left uncovered

Pickled veg is my new go to dish! It's great with Haloumi or Quorn Spicy Burgers - best made a couple of days ahead.

If I have to buy a bag of coleslaw mix I will, but mostly I use whole cabbages.

But...what to do with the leftover cabbage...? Plastic wrap, nooooo, use a 4MyEarth Food Bag or Bread Bag, fold it over and it keeps fresh for ages in your fridge. Food Covers may work well too, but the outer leaves may go soft.

My fave recipe is by - her Pickled Salad is in her Everyday Thermo Cooking - but you don't need a thermo as you slice up all your veg - the thermomix does make the dressing very quick to do though!
