🏃‍♀️🏆Athletics at Willagee🏃‍♀️🏆
Last week with Caralee Community School, our students took part in the Jumps and Throws events on Tuesday, followed by the Faction Athletics Carnival and Early Childhood events on Friday. A big congratulations to all the winners, and well done to every student who participated, gave their best and encouraged their friends. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship and school spirit shown by our students are what make these events so special!
A big thank you to all our staff and everyone involved in organising and running the events. It takes a great team effort behind the scenes to make these days happen and run so smoothly. Well done everyone! 👏

This achievement recognises the dedication of our staff, students, families and broader school community in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

📚FREMANTLE LDC SCHOOL BOARD CLASSROOM VISITS📚
Over the past two terms, our School Board members have been visiting classrooms across the school, seeing learning in action and deepening their understanding of teaching and learning across our school.
Classroom visits are part of new initiatives outlined in the Board’s Strategic Plan, supporting the Principal to embed evidence-based teaching practices in every classroom.
We are grateful to our students and staff for welcoming our Board members into their classrooms and sharing a glimpse of the wonderful learning taking place at FLDC.

💙SPEECH PATHOLOGY WEEK: 23–29 August 2026💙

Speech Pathology Week recognises the value and impact of speech pathology across Australia. This year’s theme, “Communication creates possibility,” highlights how the right support can create opportunities for people to connect, learn, make choices, participate and thrive.

This week, we would like to acknowledge our wonderful speech pathologists in the Oral Language Team, who support our students with language difficulties, as well as our Outreach Team, who provide valuable support to teachers across other schools. Your expertise, care and dedication help students overcome communication challenges, build confidence and connect with others. Thank you for all your hard work and for the difference you make every day! 💙

📚🎶 A SYMPHONY OF STORIES 🎶📚

What a fantastic Book Week Parade! Our biggest and most spectacular parade yet, filled with creativity, music and community spirit.

A huge thank you to our local library Wilgi Kaartdijin Mia Willagee, the Melville Senior High School Band and Caralee Community School Band, our students and staff for their incredible costumes and commitment, and our families, friends and the wider Willagee community for joining the celebrations.

Special thanks to the City of Melville for closing the roads to support our event, and to Lisa O'Malley MLA for Bicton for joining us and for her generous donation of books for our Caralee Library.

Finally, a very special thank you to the amazing Mrs Callie Hadgorn, whose organisation, dedication and hard work made this wonderful event possible.
