Oral health professionals: Your patients’ microbes do not respect departmental boundaries. 🦷💩🧬

This little fella is porphyromonas gingivalis. Commonly associated with periodontal infections.
They are CLEVER.

They use our own immune system against us, to gain access to our blood stream and get themselves dropped off at locations of their choosing.
They most love the endothelial cells of the cardiovascular system.. and gingivalis infection is now listed as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
So, if you need a bit of motivation to have a chat with your patients about how their oral health might impact everything else in the body (and the gut-oral axis also operates in reverse), this is it. 🦷💩🧬

I moved house a couple of weeks ago. 0/10 recommend. 0 star review from me.

But, this move has quietly become one of the biggest resets of my life. Apart from deciding I will never own this much STUFF again, I have a:

New home (with my love)
New routines.
New business ideas.
New opportunities.

The last two weeks have actually been a bit uncomfortable because everything was a bit *different*.

While I was out running yesterday, I decided that I could just keep running, even if I didn’t quite know where the path went, I just had to trust that it would get me where I wanted to go. And I guess, this stage of my life and career is also a bit like this.

I have no idea where the path is going right now, but I’m happy to keep running on it!
