Clover is a shy, quiet independent sweetheart who likes to observe, keep her distance but with time will sit closer and closer to you. She loves to play with toys or bottle caps or cardboard on her own when its quiet and is most relaxed in a calm environment. She is not a big fan of pats but will allow it when she decides she trusts you lol.

She is an absolute angel and is so quiet you would never know shes there. She likes to relax and explore on her own and shes great company❤️

DID you know that SRR cannot actually legally take native animals.

However we do appreciate everyone that rescues injured or abandoned wildlife and we highly recommend Wilvos!

Bio

Very friendly boy, loves to sit on your lap, hang around with you in the house, and sleep near you. Very chatty, especially at dinner time. Doesn't want to be best friends with dogs, but is happy to be in the same space as them

❤️ OBIE — THE MUM WHO REFUSED TO GIVE UP ❤️

Some rescue stories stay with you forever. Obie’s is one of them.

Obie was sitting on death row with only 48 hours left to live when we received the call. When the pound staff came down that morning, they discovered that this beautiful girl had given birth to two tiny kittens inside the pound.
She was extremely stressed, not knowing if her babies were safe.

If that wasn’t heartbreaking enough.

Obie was placed in a transport carrier and began the long five-hour journey to the Sunshine Coast. when our carer went to meet the transport, we discovered something nobody expected …

Obie was giving birth again.

One tiny baby was stuck and hadn’t quite made it into the world properly. Our experienced foster carer immediately stepped in.
That little boy was not breathing.

For 10 terrifying minutes, she performed CPR, refusing to give up on him.

And then… a tiny breath.

Then another.

And suddenly, the sweetest little meow filled the air. ❤️

That little boy had made it.

Over the next 24 hours, Obie gave birth to five beautiful babies in total.

Sadly, one precious little girl didn’t make it. 💔 she was just to small , But her other babies are doing well, and Obie is proving what an extraordinary mum she is
A 24 hour labor is very uncommon in cats, it really shows her resilience and dedication to save her babies.

She is gentle, loving and completely trusting of her foster carer. She allows her babies to be handled, weighed and cared for without a moment of fuss.

She knows they are safe now.

And perhaps, for the first time in her life, she knows she is safe too. ❤️

This is what we see far too often.

Beautiful, healthy, loving cats sitting on death row.
Pregnant mums.
Mums with newborn babies.
Cats who have done absolutely nothing wrong.

They are simply caught in a system where there is no room, no time and, sometimes, no compassion.

But Obie got her chance.

One little heartbeat at a time. ❤️🐾

Welcome to safety, beautiful Obie. You and your babies are finally home.

❤️ SRR — we believe every heartbeat deserves a chance. 🐾❤️

Merlin is a very confident and affectionate little lad. He starts purring as soon as he is picked up and has a very sweet sounding purr motor. He is starting to play now and enjoys balls, tunnels and tease toys. Merlin is socialising well with his litter mates and the torbie kittens also in care. He has a beautiful medium black shiny coat and will need weekly brushing to keep him looking like the handsome dude he is.

Merlin should fit into most homes with ease, gentle introductions to other pets and younger children. He needs a family to love

🐾 💕💕💕❤️YOU DID THIS. FIVE LIVES JUST CHANGED. 🐾💕 💕💕❤️

Tonight, the first cats from a hoarding situation arrived into our care.

There are five cats in total, and while all of that was unfolding, something else happened...

One little pregnant mum gave birth in the pound last night.

Think about that for a second.

She brought her babies into the world inside a pound.

But tonight?

She is SAFE. Her babies are SAFE. And you helped make that happen. ❤️

Two of the boys from this situation didn't pass their temperament assessment. Their future was supposed to end there.

But if you've followed SRR for any length of time, you'll know something...

That doesn't happen in my world.

Scared isn't bad.
Terrified isn't broken.
And an animal doesn't lose its right to live simply because fear makes it difficult to handle.

Those two boys are safe tonight too. 🐈‍⬛

To every absolute legend who donated last night, THIS is what your money did.

You didn't just send a few dollars.

You bought tomorrow.

And apparently the universe has decided we aren't allowed to put our feet up just yet. 😂

We've now been contacted about another local colony, including abandoned and pregnant Manx cats who need help.

So here's where I want to try something different.

💛 I DON'T JUST WANT DONORS. I WANT A RESCUE ARMY.

For just $1 a week, you can become part of the people behind these stories.

Imagine if hundreds of us each threw one tiny dollar into the rescue pot every week.

One person can't do much with $1.

But 1,000 people together can create $1,000 worth of second chances every single week.

Join our Patreon for $1 a week, and in return you'll get access to our members-only posts, where we'll take you behind the scenes with the animals you're helping save.

You'll meet them.

You'll follow their progress.

You'll see the messy bits, the breakthroughs, the babies, the scared ones learning to trust, and hopefully the beautiful day they finally go home.

And when you see one of those animals safe months from now, I want you to be able to say:

“I helped do that.”

🐾 WHO'S IN?

If you're joining our $1-a-week rescue army, comment “I'M IN ❤️” below.

Let's see just how many lives a whole bunch of ordinary people with one little dollar can change.
