This is exactly the frustration many Werribee, Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes residents have been raising for years, too often we seem to get bandaid fixes instead of properly planned, future-proof infrastructure.

Nearly $200 million has been spent on this connection, yet on day one we are already talking about bottlenecks, traffic-light sequencing, congestion and whether emergency vehicles can effectively move through the road when traffic backs up.

The real question is whether the concerns of local residents were genuinely listened to during the planning and design process. Werribee, Wyndham Vale and Wyndham have experienced enormous growth, and our community deserves infrastructure that anticipates that growth rather than projects that simply move congestion from one location to another.

The 2025 Werribee by-election demonstrated that a significant number of local voters were dissatisfied with the status quo. Governments should take messages like that seriously.

Locals deserve to be listened to, our money needs to be spent wisely, and major infrastructure projects need to solve problems, not create the next one!

No whinging.. Is crime in your top 5 priorities in Werribee in this upcoming election?
