We all want to see changes in our lives and generally think that reaching those goals has to be a complicated and drastic process - it doesn’t have to be. These things take time, but it’s the effort and drive that counts. Once you’re working towards the changes - one step at a time - you’ll eventually see results.

Sometimes we forget that, ultimately, each one of us is responsible for our own thoughts and actions - that is, the ones that affect not only ourselves but others as well.
This is a friendly reminder to be mindful of what you think, say, and do today!

We’re saying thank you to all the incredible women out there! While today is International Women’s Day let’s not limit our support to just March 8th. We still have a long way to go before we close the gender gap, but if we continue to inspire, encourage and work with each other we can definitely make progress in achieving gender equality.
Happy International Women’s Day.

With International Woman’s Day coming up, here’s a reminder that while it’s important to be aware of certain oppressions and want to do something about them; it’s even more important to actually take action and make changes.
You don’t have to wait for a program to be launched or be asked to do something - everyone is responsible for their own actions and capable of making changes in their own way. 🙅♀️🙅♂️

It’s Women’s History month and this is the perfect time to remind you all that women are still struggling with everyday discrimination in the workplace.
These acts of discrimination or microaggressions manifest themselves in various ways such as women having to work harder to prove their competence in their area of expertise or even being mistaken for a way more junior personnel.
This behavior does reflect disrespect and inequality and won’t change overnight - but the first step is being aware of it.

As the love season winds down, it’s important to also be aware of behaviors that aren’t so kind and are even considered bullying in the workplace. In fact, some of us may be doing these things and not even realize it:
Ignoring - Deliberately ignoring or avoiding persons - This can be by selectively greeting others, and "forgetting" to invite someone to a meeting, for example.
Undermining others’ work - Purposefully delaying and blocking someone's progress or making promises/commitments with one person and fulfilling them with someone else in a spiteful manner.
Setting impossible or ever-changing expectations - Intentionally creating seemingly impossible goals or constantly changing them so that others will fail.
Sometimes we do these things subconsciously and don’t realize how harmful it can be to others or maybe we are aware and are just acting out. Regardless, we wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this stick and should be more mindful of how we interact with our teammates.

As things are settling down and we return to a certain level of normalcy, it’s important to keep in contact with your team. It doesn’t have to be a daily meeting, but at least weekly you should check in with the team to hear how they’re readjusting, keep up-to-date with any concerns or suggestions they may have, or just see how’re doing.
Having a channel to express themselves can definitely reduce some of the stress the team may be experiencing, boost communication and teamwork in the office, and give the team confidence that they matter!

When soft skills are mentioned (leadership, communication, teamwork, etc.) it’s important to remember that a high level of these skills is connected to a high level of empathy - being able to truly and deeply connect with others and understand them. It plays a huge role in various areas of business leadership, teamwork, and even customer service and can enhance one’s overall performance.
While you won’t reach the stage of being a mind-reader, the more effort you make the easier it becomes to connect with others.

One thing that will for sure come up when dating is “love languages.” These languages are what persons use to express love; there are different ways to do so. Guess what - some of these love languages can also be used at work to create foster harmony and inspire others.
For example, we’ve got:
Words of affirmation - This can be verbal acknowledgment and appreciation. Did someone ace a presentation? Let them know! Or maybe you’re proud of a recent achievement - it’s okay to commend yourself, too.
Acts of Service - Lend a helping hand. Maybe a coworker is a little stretched, if you have the capacity you could help them with their workload. Or maybe you came across a helpful resource or tip, share it with your team!
Quality Time - Try spending time with your colleagues. Perhaps after a big project, go out and celebrate as a team.
Do any of these examples sound like your love language? Maybe you’ve got other ideas on how to express kindness in the workplace. We’d love to know, so leave a comment below and tell us!

This week may have been exhausting (mentally and physically) for various reasons - perhaps there were tight deadlines, big presentations, or maybe even the love season was affecting you.
If you can, you definitely should take some time to unwind, reflect on the week and reset.
Stay safe and enjoy your weekend!

It’s valentines day and love is in the air! Not only for couples - but it can be in the office as well!
Love in the workplace doesn’t necessarily have to refer to romance. It manifests itself in other ways such as:
Intimacy - Taking a genuine interest in your team and their personal lives beyond work. (in an appropriate way, of course)
Passion - bringing positive energy to your work and company’s missions and values and sharing it with others.
Commitment - Being dedicated to the well-being of others and your shared assignments.
These are only a few ways, but if done with a truly genuine intention the team will more than appreciate it. It could definitely boost the mood in the workplace! And guess what - you can do these things at any time - not just on Valentine’s day.
Happy Valentine’s Day! How’re you guys spreading the love this time around? Let us know in the comments!
