Here's a look at a kitchen we did as a part of this full-gut penthouse renovation.

Good communication and clear roles & responsonilities are so important on any construction or renovation project. Often times when a client engages the wrong architect or designer for a project, the project becomes poorly represented and a lack of communication of wishes and desired outcomes, what we call "specs" or "specifications" can cause discomfort for all parties involved. These issues don't have to be neccesarily from bad intent but they often happen and always are costly.

As a builder brought into a project strictly in a professional capacity it is important to be aware of pre-existing friendships between other parties involved in the project which may lead to the builder being thrown under the bus and requests for loads of free changes if you aren't careful.

Keeping accurate records and clear, written lines of communication is extremely important in this business as its all smiles until its not and sometimes fair from a business standpoint is a long way from comfortable from a personal standpoint.

Sometimes growth comes with a cost. We pushed forward, taking on bigger projects, but the workload outgrew one of our best crews - a loyal, hardworking team that's been with us through it all.
