The Caribbean Market Center continues to make significant strides in its work to assist in the development of emerging fashion designers in Barbados. In the latest opportunity three designers, Shanika Burnett, Kesia Estwick and Rhea Cummins-Jordan are participating in the 2nd annual Saint Lucia HOT Couture.
Being held as part of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival the event features select Caribbean designers, models and personalities, showcasing the style, creativity and excitement of the region’s fashion point of view. The highly anticipated event, being delivered to world-class standards, is taking place at the Johnson Center in Rodney Bay, smack in the hub of Jazz activities.
Since their arrival in St. Lucia on May 5, the designers have been involved in fittings and rehearsals ahead of the runway shows held on May 7. The runway shows featured resort/swimwear and eveningwear/party time. Today’s schedule includes photo shoots and a trunk show at which buyers and the general public will get an opportunity to chat with the designers and conduct business.
The Saint Lucia HOT Couture is a collaboration between the St. Lucia Tourist Board and SHE Caribbean Magazine.
