Ok this is sad for that community I’m sure. I am not certain of why it failed but I can guesstimate that CORROSION is on the list. One day after viral videos showed the poor state of a bridge in Fresh Creek Andros, a team from the Ministry of Works and Family Island Affairs was dispatched to assess the situation. MOWFIA Senior Engineer Antonne Taylor said that one of the pile caps, which is the thick concrete mats at the bottom of the bridge, sank and shifted the weight to one side of the structure. The bridge is now closed to vehicular traffic, and there are plans to set up a temporary bridge within the next two months until a permanent one is built. In the meantime, a barge will be used to ferry residents across.
