When you think about Botswana 10 or 20 years from now, what do you want the country to look like? Tell us in the comments below.

Botswana@60 is an opportunity to celebrate how far we have come, but also to define where we want to go next.

This October, we will continue that future-focused conversation in Maun at the Botswana Sustainability Week 2026.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ό 60 years of Botswana. The next chapter starts now.

As we celebrate six decades of independence, the focus must also be on the future we are building: resilient communities, responsible growth and sustainable development.

That same future-focused conversation is at the heart of Botswana Sustainability Week 2026, where sustainability moves from ambition to action.

Happy 60th Independence, Botswana. P**a!

A tree pledge matters when it leads to implementation. 🌱🌳

Through the One Million Trees Campaign, Green Loop Foundation is bringing partners together to turn tree commitments into coordinated planting, long-term care, community participation and economic opportunity.

The campaign will form part of Botswana Sustainability Week 2026, creating a platform to connect pledges with partnerships and sustainable financing for implementation.

We are calling on businesses, institutions and development partners to make or renew their tree commitments ahead of .

🌳 Make your tree pledge count.

🌳 A tree can provide fruit, shade and healthier soil.

🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 Many trees can support livelihoods, community enterprises and healthier ecosystems.

That is the thinking behind Green Loop Foundation’s One Million Trees Campaign, which will also be advanced through Botswana Sustainability Week 2026 as we bring partners together around practical implementation.

More tourism value needs to reach small businesses and communities within the KAZA region, which means local enterprises need easier access to markets and supply chains for the tourism sector. ❗️

Lindiwe Modise is representing Green Loop Foundation at the three-day KAZA workshop on regenerative nature-based tourism in Maun, from 22–24 September. Her contribution brings the practical challenges SMMEs face in the tourism value chain into discussions with regional stakeholders and strategic partners.

For Green Loop Foundation, connecting these realities to regional planning is essential. Regenerative tourism must translate into viable opportunities for local businesses, alongside better outcomes for the landscapes they depend on.

🌳 Forests and indigenous trees should be recognised as part of Botswana’s natural and economic infrastructure.

Beyond their environmental value, growing demand for trees can support community nurseries by creating opportunities to collect seeds, propagate and supply seedlings, and generate local income and employment. Trees can also support agroforestry, local enterprises and new livelihood opportunities.

The One Million Trees Campaign is working to connect restoration with this wider economic opportunity. This conversation will also form part of Botswana Sustainability Week 2026, where the focus moves from sustainability commitments towards financing and implementation.
