At FracFin, we are intentional about keeping the dream of homeownership alive.

As Botswana celebrates President’s Day, we’re reminded that leadership is measured not only by the decisions we make today, but by the opportunities we create for future generations.

At FracFin, we believe inclusive homeownership is one of those opportunities.

A nation grows stronger when more families have a place to call their own, build wealth, and leave a legacy.

This President’s Day, we celebrate Botswana’s progress—and reaffirm our commitment to Homeownership for Everyone.

Across Botswana, the pressure is tangible.

Fuel prices are climbing.
Commuting costs are increasing.
Household budgets are tighter than they’ve been in years.

For many Batswana, this naturally puts long-term goals like home ownership on hold.

But this moment calls for a shift in thinking.

Home ownership should not be limited to those who fit traditional lending models, especially in an economy where income realities are evolving beyond fixed, predictable structures.

The question is no longer whether people are capable of owning homes. It is whether our financial systems are designed to support them.

As Botswana continues to invest in affordable housing, equal focus must be placed on how people actually access that housing.

At Fracfin, our position remains clear:

𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞.

Not by overlooking economic pressures, but by designing financial pathways that respond to them because in today’s Botswana, access must evolve with reality.

𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐚’𝐬 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐈𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞.

Botswana is witnessing a welcome rise in affordable housing initiatives with government and fund administrators backing large-scale developments aimed at expanding home access.

This is progress.

But affordability alone does not guarantee ownership.

The real question becomes:
• Who qualifies?
• Who gets excluded by traditional lending criteria?
• How do we structure finance that reflects today’s economic realities?

𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬. 𝐈𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲.

At Fracfin, we believe the next phase of the housing movement must integrate:

• Alternative credit assessment models
• Structured finance partnerships
• Flexible ownership pathways
• Risk-managed inclusion

Affordable housing is a supply solution: Inclusive finance is the access solution.

The two must work together.

Being declined for a home doesn’t mean you’re irresponsible. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed, and it certainly doesn’t mean you don’t deserve stability.

Too many capable people are locked out of homeownership by traditional models that don’t reflect modern realities.

At FracFin, we look beyond the obvious numbers.
We take time to understand context, constraints, and potential; because people are more than ratios on paper.

Homeownership should feel possible not distant, and we’re committed to building pathways that make it achievable.

For many, January arrives with fresh goals but also familiar doubts:
“𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘺?”
“𝘐𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦?”

At FracFin, we believe a new year should not come with old limitations.

Too many capable, hardworking people are excluded by traditional lending models that focus narrowly on ratios and checkboxes. We start from a different place; by looking at the person, the journey, and the sustainability of each solution.

2026 is about expanding access, restoring dignity, and redefining what qualification really means.
Because owning a home should not be a privilege for a few; it should be an achievable goal for many.

Here’s to a year of inclusive finance, real possibilities, and new beginnings.
