September is quietly one of the strongest fundraising opportunities of the year. Donor engagement spikes, routines are back, and attention spans that drifted through summer are suddenly sharp again. A warm outreach in September does not feel like a year end ask. It feels like a genuine check in. And that distinction matters more than most organizations realize.
The nonprofits that can finish the year strongest are the ones that used September to reconnect with lapsed donors and build relationships before the competition for attention got loud.

Are donor advised funds part of your nonprofit fundraising strategy yet?
In the US DAF assets reached $326 billion in 2024. In Canada they rose to almost $10.5 billion by the end of 2023 and have continued to grow since then. More than half of Canadian registered charities received DAF grants or gifts in the past year alone.
DAF donors make 23 times larger gifts than non-DAF donors on average and their retention rates are significantly higher. The money is already set aside for charitable use. It just needs to be directed to your organization.
The good news is that getting on a DAF donor's radar is more straightforward than most organizations think. We broke it all down in our latest blog including what DAFs actually are, why most nonprofits are missing out, and exactly what to do about it.

The nonprofit sector is full of incredibly passionate, dedicated organizations doing work that genuinely matters. But passion alone does not scale.
The teams that are growing right now are not necessarily the ones working the hardest. They are the ones that finally stopped spending half their time fighting outdated systems, chasing down data across disconnected tools, and manually doing things that should have been automated years ago.
When the operational side runs smoothly, the mission side gets stronger. When your tools work for you instead of against you, your team gets to focus on the work that actually moves the needle.
That is what we built Driven for.

The spreadsheet has a tab for donors. A tab for volunteers. A tab for events. A tab called MISC that nobody opens anymore. A tab that is just a copy of another tab from 2021 and everyone is scared to delete it. A formula somewhere that stopped working in 2023 and everyone just manually adjusts the number now.
Every nonprofit has one. Most nonprofits have several.
Every January someone says this is the year we move off the spreadsheets. And then the gala happens. And then the grant deadline happens. And then year end happens. And then it is January again.
What is the wildest thing living in your nonprofit spreadsheet right now? Tell us in the comments.
Ready to finally move off the spreadsheets? We can help. trustdriven.com/contact

Something is shifting in how donors give and it is worth paying attention to.
Donors are moving their trust toward smaller, community rooted organizations and away from larger national ones. Younger donors especially are leading that shift, gravitating toward organizations they feel genuinely close to.
Being local helps. But the organizations winning right now are the ones showing up consistently and making donors feel like partners in the mission, not just supporters.
We explored what this shift means for nonprofits of every size.

Approximately 101 million people will be learning online by 2029.
That number stopped us in our tracks. Because when you sit with it, it raises a real question for every organization that delivers learning in any form. Are we building for where this is going?
The shift is happening across every industry. Businesses. Nonprofits. Associations. Educators. Training providers. The expectation from learners has changed and the organizations that recognize that early are the ones that tend to come out ahead.
We put our thoughts together in a full blog if you want to dig deeper.

Fundraising. Member management. Volunteer recruitment and coordination. Communications. Compliance. And somehow doing all of it with a lean team and a budget that never feels quite big enough.
That is exactly why Driven exists.
Every Driven product works on its own. Every product works better together.
We built Driven because having the right infrastructure is not a luxury for nonprofits. It is how missions actually get fulfilled.
If your organization is ready to stop piecing things together and start running on a platform built for the work you do, book a free demo at trustdriven.com.

Some of the most important work in the world is being done under conditions most industries would never accept as normal.
Understaffed. Under-resourced. And measured by a standard that penalizes organizations for investing in themselves.
We think that deserves an honest conversation.

Good news first. Your donors have not gone anywhere.
They still care deeply about your mission and the work you do. But donor paralysis is real and it is quietly spreading across the sector in 2026.
The culprit? Something called the bystander effect. The even better news is that it is completely breakable.
Find out how in our latest blog: www.trustdriven.com/blogs/donor-paralysis-is-real-and-it-is-hitting-nonprofits-hard-right-now
