CHF was pleased to attend Calgary’s Housing Summit 2026, where housing leaders, community partners, and sector experts came together to explore this year’s theme: Strengthening Partnerships & Systems.

The summit provided valuable opportunities to learn, share insights, and discuss how stronger collaboration across sectors can help build a future where homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring for Calgarians.

After more than a year experiencing homelessness, David found stable housing and the support he needed to focus on his health, reconnect with family, and build a brighter future. Through Accessible Housing's Bridge to Home program, funded by Calgary Homeless Foundation, housing became the foundation for a fresh start.

We were truly honoured to attend the 2026 Calgary Police Regimental Ball and join in celebrating the Calgary Police Service.

The evening was a great reminder of the dedication and leadership that define those who serve Calgary every day. We are grateful for the Calgary Police Service's ongoing partnership in the fight against homelessness.

Together, we celebrated a shared commitment to making Calgary a safer, more connected city.

⭐ Excellence in Prevention & Diversion
Recognizes a staff member who demonstrates exceptional skill, dedication, and creativity in helping individuals and families avoid or quickly resolve experiences of homelessness.

We welcome nominations in any format — including written, audio, video, or other approaches that best reflect the nominee’s work.

Let’s continue to recognize and celebrate those who are driving meaningful change in our community.

For Sarah, having her own home brought something she had rarely experienced before: peace, security, and stability.

After years of housing instability and homelessness, Sarah joined McMan’s Hope Homes, a CHF-funded housing program that supports youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. With help from her support team, she secured a home at Hope Heights and began building a future on her own terms.

Her story is a reminder that stable housing can be the foundation for lasting change.

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association (Calgary)

Sometimes the support that changes a life starts with the basics. A warm meal. A safe place to rest. Someone who listens.

When Tony arrived at Journey Church Day Space by Distress Centre Calgary in 2023, he was new to life on the street and searching for somewhere safe to go during the day. Through the support he received, he was connected to healthcare, housing resources, and recovery supports that helped him rebuild his life.

Journey Church is part of Calgary's Day Space Network, coordinated by Calgary Homeless Foundation in partnership with City of Calgary – Your Local Government. These spaces help ensure people experiencing homelessness can access safety, services, and meaningful connections year-round.
