Our Top Para Athlete went to our guest from Spain, Juan. He broke a National Record in the discus and won overall with Raza points as well. The men’s group had a couple of surprises. And our 2nd place winner didn’t know he won, so he left before results were compiled. He’ll get his own pic for the next meet to make up for it. Thank you to Books Between Friends for sponsoring surprises!

In annoyingly cold weather, our throws pentathlon athletes battled through frozen hands and cold bodies. Great work! And thank you to Books Between Friends for sponsoring the best throws event! Who doesn’t want to throw 5 throwing events in one day?

Monica also took the win in the women’s shot put alongside Liam in the men’s shot put. Great throws and thank you Books Between Friends for sponsoring the throwing of cannonballs.

In the women’s javelin, Monica took the win with a new British Columbia Provincial Record and her best toss in a very long time. She took double 1st at this meet actually. Not bad for flying in to check out what we’re all about!

Throws Fest 2 was a chilly one, but we still had many athletes coming out with PBs and several Provincial records got taken down. Mahmoud Hassoun started things off with the win in men’s javelin. Thank you Books Between Friends for the generous sponsorship that inspires huge performances!
