Heyyyyy….my hubby always lets me know that ‘sometimes, you have to slow down to go fast’. Especially when I get really too excited about things and the same applies with FAT LOSS.
I know when fat loss is the goal, it can feel like, “Okay, just put me in a deficit already!” 😂
But jumping straight into eating less without having the basics in place usually makes things harder.
So first, we work on the boring-but-important stuff — eating enough protein and fibre, building balanced meals, getting consistent with movement and strength training, managing weekends and actually learning how to eat in a way you can maintain.
Then we layer the deficit on top.
We’re not wasting time. We’re making sure that when we do ask your body to eat less, you’ve already got the skills and habits to handle it.
Slow down. Build the foundation. Then go.
I know this is hard to believe ladies but many of us tend to overthink what we want to change.
Yup- I said it and it’s likely true but here’s what you may want to consider…
But what if you didn’t have a time line??
What does small and doable look like? Does it look like parking in the furthest stall from the grocery store to get extra steps in? Does it look like a 10 minute walk after dinner? What about ensuring that you are eating an epic breakfast in the morning?
Well first you have to make the conscious decision to just do. And when you’ve had ENOUGH, instead of overhauling your entire existence with another 180$ membership/month, buying more Tupperware, or making a perfect meal plan. Just remember that it doesn’t take any of that stuff. It takes your decision to do something- and keep doing it until your brain treats it as your ‘usual’.
There’s a WHOLE lot of life between “on track” and “off track.”
Fun fact: I really dislike this terminology because “on track” and “off track” quietly turns food into a moral scorecard.
On track = good, disciplined, doing it right.
Off track = bad, failed, doing it wrong.
The goal isn’t to stay perfectly “on track.”
The goal is to learn how to live in the messy middle — where you can eat the pizza, enjoy it, and move on without guilt, restriction, compensation, or needing to “start over Monday.”
You want something sustainable? Learn to navigate the middle between all or nothing thinking.

Thoughts and Prayers for everyone still planning to stretch at home. 😉💪
Recovery is magic, go stretch.
If you’ve spent 20 years trying to eat less and move more, maybe it’s time to try building muscle and recovering better. These next 20 years and BEYOND can be about building a body that is capable, confident and feeling AMAZING but first we have to stop standing in our own way.
🛑Stop waiting to ‘get in shape’ before joining a gym, an activity or class.
DO: Let me be clear: you DO NOT need to earn your way to exercise. If you have a body then you belong. Everybody has started at the beginning-everyone.
🛑Stop waiting for motivation- doesn’t just happen. It is built through action. Every. Time.
Do: the hard thing, even though it’s scary or intimidating. Do it anyway.
🛑Stop thinking people are watching you. No body cares. They are more invested in themselves- trust me.
DO: SHOW UP anyway.
🛑Stop making excuses. Prioritizing YOU is okay. If you do not have 1 hour then start with 10 minutes.
DO: Schedule your workouts into your calendar. You’d be surprised by looking at how much screen time usage is on your phone, how much time you ACTUALLY have.
🛑Stop the all or nothing mentality. Let be realistic and look at how well this has been sustainable.
DO: Start with a small changes. Strength training gf 2 x per week is wildly underestimated for making a difference if you are starting from zero.
