Obsidian Metalcraft

-Stainless Steel with Bronze accents Range Hood-

This one was a challenging build for me! The combination of curves and working with brushed stainless makes for alot of "hold your breath" moments.

Thankfully I had enough breath to get this one shined up and ready to go for my client in BC! I couldnt be more thankful for the trust on these projects and thankful a new challenge awaits me everyday 🙏

-Traditional Copper Range Hood-

There's nothing like a traditional Copper range hood. By utilizing standing seams and visible copper rivets, this one is a great combination of simplicity and character all built into one.

-Stainless Steel Under Cabinet Range Hood-

Sometimes simple is more than enough. With a brushed stainless finish mixed with pleats and rivets, this small range hood adds a little bit of character to an already beautiful home.

-The Artist & His Craft-

I wanted to come on here to introduce myself as the Artist and Craftsman behind everything at Obsidian Metalcraft.

My name is Derek DeBoer and I have been in the metal industry for over 10 years now.

Starting out my metalwork by acquiring a Degree in Jewellery + Metals, I was able to lay a groundwork that helped me understand the merging between artistry and quality.

With a myriad of different skills behind me like sculpting, welding, wood working, etc. I found myself constantly searching for something to build and to create something I had never quite seen before.

A common "problem" I have is every time I go to buy something for my home, I have found myself saying "This just isn't quite what I'm looking for".

This "problem" unfortunately then proceeds with the phrase "Well I guess Ill just have to build it myself then."

To build it myself brings creativity and the space for something new to be born, and I can't wait to see what I get to build next.

Thank - You.
