BoyVault

BOYVAULT™ is now listed in the Calgary Arts Development Community Directory.

This marks another meaningful step in establishing BOYVAULT™ within Calgary’s cultural landscape.

The Calgary Arts Development directory was created as a public resource where people can discover the city’s artists, arts organizations, cultural organizations, and creative practices. BOYVAULT™ now appears within that ecosystem, including under the Museums & Galleries and Visual Arts categories.

For BOYVAULT™, this listing represents more than visibility.

It reflects the gradual building of an institution dedicated to Masculine Anthropology, visual archiving, cultural preservation, editorial research, and Advanced Visual Reconstruction — developed from Calgary while engaging histories and communities that extend far beyond it.

What began as a developing visual archive is becoming a documented body of work: publications, reconstructed histories, cultural research, and projects such as BOYVAULT™ AVR and The Dominion Capsule.

Being included in Calgary Arts Development’s directory places BOYVAULT™ alongside the broader arts and cultural community of Calgary/Mohkinsstsis and creates another public point of access for people discovering the work. Calgary Arts Development describes the directory as a free resource intended to help people see and connect with Calgary’s diverse arts community.

BOYVAULT has been officially recognized by the Global Elite Awards 2026 in the category of Leading Visual Arts Institution for Cinematic Storytelling.

What began as a personal reconstruction of memory, migration, grief, and identity has evolved into a visual institution dedicated to preserving masculine history across heritage and human experience.

This recognition reflects not only the work itself, but also the communities, stories, and generations often left undocumented within mainstream visual culture.

From Calgary, Alberta to a growing international audience, BOYVAULT continues its mission to build museum-grade archives that restore visibility, dignity, and cultural permanence to overlooked narratives.

Thank you to everyone supporting this journey as we prepare the release of our inaugural volumes:
DOMINION: The Dominion Capsule
and
DOMINION: The Next In Line.

BOYVAULT — the world’s first visual institution preserving masculine identity across history, heritage, and human experience.

BOYVAULT™ Living Legacy Archive began from lived experience.

While working in a care home environment, I witnessed firsthand the level of dedication, emotional labour, and quiet leadership that takes place every day—often without recognition. These were individuals whose impact was real, yet rarely documented.

That experience led to a published piece in the Calgary Herald, reflecting on dignity and unseen labour. It became a turning point—not only to express, but to preserve.

Living Legacy Documentation was created as a continuation of that work. It is a cultural archive dedicated to recording the stories of individuals whose everyday actions shape the lives of others.

Because these stories matter.
And they deserve to be remembered.

HISTORIA VIVENS

History is not only written in institutions or public records.
It is unfolding in the lives of those who teach, care, build, mentor, and serve.

Through the Living Legacy Documentation Archive, BOYVAULT™ preserves these contributions as part of the living cultural history of our time.

The Inaugural Living Legacy Archive is now in preparation and will document 15 individuals whose work reflects the values that shape communities today.

Documenting Contemporary Human Contributions.

BOYVAULT™ acknowledges the nomination of its Founder and Heritage Director, Rolando Jr. Montemayor Pepano, to the Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize.

The nomination reflects growing international attention to questions central to BOYVAULT™’s mission: how cultural memory is preserved, whose histories remain visible, and how responsibility is exercised in the reconstruction of under-documented pasts.

BOYVAULT™ is an institution in development, grounded in research-driven practice through the BOYVAULT™ Advanced Visual Reconstruction (AVR) Methodology. Its work approaches cultural preservation not as artistic output alone, but as long-term cultural infrastructure—focused on dignity, accountability, and intergenerational continuity.

While this nomination is noted, BOYVAULT™ remains focused on its ongoing research, archival development, and public-facing work, beginning in Canadian contexts and intended for future global application.
