If you were borned in Lunsar or grew up there or spent some few months there.. then you should know Rev. Father Gianni, he dedicated his entire life supporting children and youths of Lunsar.
We pray that the perpetual lights shines upon him.

That time of the season when as the male child, you have to wake early in the morning and head to the farm to scared away birds.... you remember?
You have to wake very early in the morning and get a fire wood from the fire side, besically, our Mothers used to wake up early and warm water for their husbands to wash and set for the mosque.
So we get the fire wood and set forth for the farm, you will be swinging that wood to keep the fire on.
And we all know that early morning cold, when drops of water are on the leaves? (Oh boy.. I hate that thing) but back then, you have to go anyways or the birds will finish the rice, more at the time of milking, you sabi da black n white small stuborn birds (Sokeii) and the yellow and black headed (Bakuiii) oh.. and gbungaa? (Den wan dem nor de sidom for eat oh, na just pass dem dae pass n lef trouble) so u get for wake early n go dreb bord. Coz if not, dem go finish all during the milking period n den res nor go betteh.
Da early morning grap kin make boy pikin e body all done.
But also, wae u kin don reach na farm ose, more if u bin set arata trap n u meet e catch, well na enjoyment to begin so. Tae the rest of the family member dem dae kam, una don go far now.
E kin really sweet n sour at the same time.

In the next few weeks, the Farm Ose will be busy as we prepare for the harvesting season.
Now, we are on low key prep.
The Farm Ose is an important part of our lives for those of us who grew in the villages in Sierra Leone.
During the planting season we spend most of our time here on the farm looking after the farm during the hard times before the rice is ready for harvesting, but, as time goes on, especially this period, corns, cucumber and the 3 month swamp rice by the side of the farm is almost ready, which we will eat to look after the rest of the farm.
Cutting grass, squirrel and other bush meats will suffer.
Fresh water fish, crabs, swimps will make way into the evening soup.
My favy soup is,... the lots of local fish,crabs,watrrsnail(gbuwui) and slices of ripe cucumber, local tomotoes will all be put together for that sweet fish stew locally made by whoever's turn it is to cook for the family.
In the eevening, when there is silent from the farm Ose, just walk there, you will see everybody busy with their mouth.
I so much missed those memorable moments.
