I knew I had to paint a goose when I saw them in Germany. The easiest part? The feet! The hardest part? The feathery body. šŖæ Fun Fact: I had a pet duck when I was about 10 years old. We lived in the city! My dad brought 2 ducklings home out of the blue one summer. I named mine Buttercup and I loved her.š§”When she was full grown, we brought her to my uncleās farm and she lived happily with the chickens. Maybe I will paint a duck next.

Iāve also been busy practicing portraits. Here are 6 different studies of the same person. Switching up mediums is a really great learning experience. Iām usually a āone and doneā type of person but painting the same subject repeatedly has taught me a lot. š¤

Iām fascinated by watercolour portraiture. Well all portraiture actually. The mystery is how to achieve a likeness. I couldnāt quite get it in this lesson. Some day I will figure it out. Thanks to Margriet Aasman for sharing her talents in this Sktchy class.

Iām back to watercolour portrait study - with another amazing lesson from Margriet Aasman Sktchy š„³Used my new Caran d'Ache Luminance colour pencils from Opus Art Supplies to draw and add finishing touches. On toned paper Strathmore Artist Papers āļø I am surprised how much I love this mixed media style of portraits.
