Skate Park Luau Recap!

It's been one month since our Skate Park Luau and we just want to say what an incredible evening we had! The skate park was buzzing with energy as tons of local youth came out to enjoy the festivities, connect with friends, and take part in a fun-filled summer event. From the great atmosphere to the awesome activities, it was wonderful to see so many young people making memories and having a great time together.

Events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of our amazing community partners and sponsors. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to:

- Edson FCSS for providing many of the supplies that helped make the event a success
- Secure Energy for keeping everyone fed by running the BBQ
- Castle Rentals for donating the generator and light tower
- St. John Ambulance for providing excellent first aid services throughout the event
- Centurion Canada Rentals & Services for supplying the portable toilets
- Panago Pizza and Vicious Cycle & Snow for donating giveaways and prizes

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a fun, safe, and welcoming event. We love seeing our community come together, and we're already looking forward to the next one!

Wheel Week has been off to a fantastic start!

We’ve loved seeing so many students and families taking part in active transportation around Edson, and our Walking School Bus has been tons of fun so far! A big thank you to all of the students, volunteers, and community partners who have joined us this week.

There’s still time to participate! We encourage everyone to keep walking, biking, scootering, rollerblading, or running their way to school and around town for the rest of the challenge. Every trip helps promote healthy habits, community connection, and active living, plus there are chances to WIN prizes! 🎉

Want to join the Walking School Bus? Mary Bergeron students can meet us at the Edson Public Library, and Vanier & Westhaven students can meet us at Griffiths Park Centre between 8-8:10AM on Thursday and Friday morning. We'll be there, rain or shine!

Join the fun and keep the momentum going for the rest of Wheel Week! 😄

Join us Friday evening for a Group Run around Edson followed by a social hour at Mountain Steak and Pizza! Preregistration is required and can be done here: https://anc.ca.apm.activecommunities.com/townofedson/activity/search/detail/17738?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true

The Community Engagement Action Team was out and about this morning delivering kindness cookies to 11 local businesses in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Week! 🍪

This small gesture was our way of saying thank you to the businesses that help make our community such a wonderful place to live, work, and connect. We hope these sweet treats sparked a few smiles, and inspire even more random acts of kindness throughout our town.

We have included a list of ideas on how you can spread kindness in your community, as well as pictures of some of the wonderful community members we visited this morning.

Kindness is contagious, let’s keep it going!
