Flowers for a dreary day! The season is winding down and the flowers are slowing, but hopefully we will still have blooms for a few more weeks🤞! Fresh bouquets, cutie dried floral pumpkins for your fall table, and farm fresh eggs available today, down by the cove on Ollie’s loop.

There are lots of things to like about Hubbards, but one of the things I love the most about it is the Barn. What a vibe. The Harvest Moon Night Market last night was all that we had hoped it would be and more. I was so caught up that I didn’t even make a post, but it was whimsical, fun and dang it might even have been a little bit magical✨

Happy first day of fall!!🍂I am hanging out at the Tantallon Farmers market this afternoon with fresh flowers and some of the cutest dried Floral pumpkins around. Pop down to say hi!

The flowers are on borrowed time these days, but the dahlias will carry us through…. but also the late successions of sunflowers, basil and zinnias I planted 2 months ago hoping for autumn blooms. Flower farming means always living a season (or 3;) ahead, and planning for things like markets, dried flowers and thanksgiving arrangements all takes a lot of brainpower😅. I have heard farming called sweaty gambling, and with so many bugs, slugs and storms to contend with I feel that to my very core;). So here’s to hoping Mother Nature plays nice, the sun shines, that north wind doesn’t blow too hard and the frost stays away, at least for a few more weeks🤞

If definitely feels like fall out there today🍂, and the bite in the air tells me we have just a few weeks left before the frost comes. The flowerstand is open with some pretty fall blooms today though, and we will continue to harvest flowers until either the frost comes or we run out of daylight for the plants to grow!

I have a few of the dried floral pumpkins out as well, with so many more to come:)

These pumpkins are so dang cute I thought they deserved their own spot on the grid🥰. I’ve gotten soo many messages about them!

I will be making loads of these sweet mini floral pumpkins and have them available at Cavicchi's Meats this Friday, as well as the Tantallon Village Farmers Market next Tuesday, AND the Hubbards Barn Association Night market next Thursday!! I will also be creating different sizes, and colours, and have about a kajillion different design ideas that you won’t find anywhere else:). Watch this space!
