Soma Path
Soma Path is a way of living based on the science of the body, founded by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jivasu, MD.
Trauma is not always one dramatic event. It can also involve inherited patterns, early experiences, abuse or the long pressure to conform to roles that disconnect us from ourselves.
In Soma, trauma is understood not only through the story of what happened, but through how that experience continues to live in our relationship with the body.
Somatic Awareness & Transformation Training is a 100-hour online immersion in Soma’s teachings and somatic practices.
The next cohort begins September 26, 2026. This is the final week to register.
Investment: $490 CAD
Payment plan available with a $175 CAD deposit.
No prior somatic, yoga, therapy or teaching experience required.

Technology can do more for us while we experience less of life directly.
Soma distinguishes between virtual experience and felt experience. Images, information and stimulation may hold our attention, but life is encountered through the body and our contact with the living world.
The answer is not to reject technology. It is to maintain practices that bring us back—from the virtual world to the body, sensation and nature.

Raising a happy and whole child is not about protecting them from every difficulty.
Soma’s Nesting and Wings approach brings together two essential forms of care: security and freedom. Nesting helps preserve the child’s connection with the body, emotional safety and unique nature. Wings give them room to explore, make mistakes and discover their own path.
The goal is not to shape every child into the same ideal. It is to care for the individual who is already there.

Sometimes the difficulty is not that life has disappeared, but that we have lost contact with how it feels.
A return can begin quietly: one breath, one sensation and one moment of attention offered to the body.

What happens when life looks full from the outside, but something inside still feels unfelt?
In this conversation, Dr. Jivasu and Matt explore the dissatisfaction that can remain beneath knowledge, status and achievement, and the role sensation may play in helping us reconnect with the experience of being alive.

We often search outside ourselves for meaning—through achievement, roles, advice or the expectations of others.
This teaching offers another direction: meaning and purpose are innate. The work is not to have someone else assign them to us, but to discover what is already alive within.
The body is the doorway into that discovery.
Save this and ask yourself: What feels quietly alive in me right now?

What frightens us when we think about death?
This week’s Make This Simple offers one perspective: beneath the fear of physical death may be a deeper fear that the personal self—the identity we know as “me”—will disappear.
Listen, then notice what this question brings up in you.

Sometimes we reach for our phones because we want a break—a little relief, interest or escape.
But if the scrolling leaves you more scattered than before, try a different kind of pause.
Put both feet on the ground. Let your exhale soften. Notice one sensation in your body without trying to change it.
The goal isn’t to make your phone the enemy. It’s to notice when outside stimulation may be replacing connection with what is happening inside you.
Tip: Notice how you feel after scrolling on your phone - learn to decode sensation - the messengers of the body - it is life flowing in you.
Save this for the next time one post becomes thirty.

A teacher can show us where to begin.
In Soma, the body is the doorway to direct knowledge and true wisdom. A teaching becomes ours when we can feel and expressed from within.
Save this for the moments when another person’s certainty becomes louder than your experience.
