Ebb and Flow - Meditation Beads
These 108 bead necklaces are my interpretation of traditional Malas, or prayer beads. Each stone is said to carry unique metaphysical properties (you can find more info through a quick search online). The wooden beads are intended to inspire calmness, while absorbing your intention or mantra. Here are some ways to incorporate these beads into your meditation practice:
Keep it simple. Hold your beads while focusing on your breath. Thoughts will come and go, you may be distracted, but gently return your focus to your breathing. Let wearing your beads remind you of calm steady breathe through-out your day. Slide your beads through your thumb and finger (middle or ring) of your right hand while reciting your mantra. Mantras can be a simple affirmation, or something more complex. Pick something meaningful to you. Or try simply “counting” a bead for each breath.
