She’s quick, she’s funny, and she has made an art form of pretending that none of it lands. But now she’s hoarding a major secret: she’s pregnant. By accident. With a man who made her feel safe…until he politely made it clear that fatherhood wasn’t in his plans.

I didn't write on Wednesday. Here are all the things I did instead.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting one of my absolute idols this past weekend. Though my time with Taylor Jenkins Reid was short, the impression that it left on me has been profound.

Let me start by saying that when I first read FOREVER, INTERRUPTED over 10 years ago, I was in awe. And every book of hers that I have read since has only increased my fascination. Taylor Jenkins Reid and Camille Pagán were my first real look into the world of women’s fiction, and are the reason that I continue to write women’s fiction to this day.

I have no words for what it means to have even been in the same room as TJR, but what I know is this: Laying my eyes on her in person was a clear reminder to continue to work hard and never stop dreaming.

My face here says it all…I still can’t believe it.
