Happy anniversary to my love, 4 years already, love you to the moon and back. Forever.

I had a great couple of days enjoying the activities at Molanosa Cultural Days.

Taking in the opening ceremonies, visiting with friends, eating traditional food, boating from Weyakwin to Frank’s Point, hearing stories from Elders, and so much more.

I’d like to give a big thank you to the leadership of Montreal Lake Cree Nation for the warm welcome, as always, and for the beautiful star blanket.

It is important for everyone to attend events that honour the treaties, as they help us reaffirm our commitment to those foundational agreements which chart a path forward between the Crown and the First Nations who have been here since time immemorial.

Was so great to join the Chiefs, Councils, and Communities as we gathered to celebrate and open the Woodland Cree Gathering.

An annual celebration that brings us back to our woodland roots, where we discuss the importance of connection to our culture, language, and ancestors.

Thanks to the host community of Pelican Narrows for the hospitality, the reminder of the importance of our collective history, and what we can do to embolden our culture in the years to come.

Was so great to join the families, athletes, and volunteers in opening ceremonies of the Tony Cote Summer Games.

When we gather celebrate sport, culture, and community, we build up our nations!

Tiniki to all the coordinators. Good luck to all the athletes!

Happiest of birthdays going out to the one who keeps us all together. My smart as a whip, patient, and beautiful wife Marlette.

If you see her wish her a happy "29th" birthday!

Today’s 50 per cent tariffs from Donald Trump will be another gut punch to Saskatchewan workers.

We have seen the devastation these punitive and shortsighted measures have had on workers as recently as last week with the curtailment of the Big River sawmill, which will cost 117 people their jobs.

Our world-class steel industry has also taken hit after hit from the actions of the Trump government.

Scott Moe says over and over that we shouldn’t take Trump literally — I don’t know what that means when good, hardworking people are literally losing their jobs because of this trade war, which we didn’t start.

We are stronger when we stand together. We have seen other premiers take actions in support of Canada, while Moe has sat on his hands.

We see a federal government announcing major projects right across Canada, except here in Saskatchewan. Where is our seat in these critical conversations?

This is a pivotal time for people, for our province, for the country.

We should oppose any efforts to divide Canada — or break it apart entirely.

It is not a time to sit on the sidelines, which this Premier seems so comfortable doing time and time again.

It’s time for leadership to diversify our trade, build major projects to connect our country and become the economic powerhouse that is worthy of Saskatchewan people.

Nothing less will do. Working people deserve a better government. It’s time for change.

SHADOW MINISTER OF FORESTRY JORDAN MCPHAIL RESPONDS TO THE CURTAILMENT OF THE BIG RIVER SAWMILL

My thoughts are with the 117 workers and their families who will be impacted by this decision.

These are families being thrown into financial anxiety, because of the total mismanagement of Saskatchewan's forestry industry by Scott Moe and the Sask. Party.

From refusing to assist the forest sector when it comes to Donald Trump's tariffs, to allowing disease, insects, and wildfires to devastate forests and destroy investment, it’s clear that Scott Moe and the Sask. Party don't view our forests as assets worth managing.

Our team has made a number of calls to support the forest sector, including allowing dues free salvage of the burned areas to aid reforestation, to focusing on replanting to show a commitment to growth.

Carla Beck’s team has listened to the industry and community stakeholders for the forest sector, and are working to support them to protect the good jobs and communities that rely on them.

The Sask. Party has failed the forest sector, workers and communities for nearly two decades, and now 117 workers are facing the consequences.

It’s time for change.

It was a great honour to run with, and to carry, the Tony Cote Summer Games lance alongside my Chief, and to help send it off with an amazing group of Indigenous youth who will carry it from La Ronge to North Battleford for the upcoming Summer Games. I want to wish all the runners and their helpers a safe journey and all the best in their upcoming competitions.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to bring greetings at the opening ceremonies for the second annual Family Wellness Gathering hosted by LLRIB in beautiful downtown La Ronge.

I am incredibly appreciative for all the hard work that was put in to bring this event together. Our continued path of healing as a community is essential to our future and it is events like this that give us the opportunities to do so.

Thank you once again to all those who made this gathering possible.

STATEMENT FROM NORTHERN AFFAIRS SHADOW MINISTER JORDAN MCPHAIL

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency made the right decision to ground three aircraft while serious safety concerns are reviewed. The safety of pilots and crews must always come first.

But this decision exposes just how depleted Saskatchewan’s wildfire fleet has become.

At our June 30 news conference, we revealed that eight of SPSA’s 17 wildfire-response aircraft were already grounded, including five air tankers and three bird dog aircraft. Now, three additional bird dogs have been paused as temperatures soar and anxiety rises among so many of my constituents in the North.

Scott Moe’s government must immediately release an emergency plan explaining what aircraft and backup resources are available, where they will be deployed, and how northern communities will be protected if fires escalate.

Northern families cannot be left wondering whether help will arrive if and when they need it most this wildfire season.
