Your kids are mid- video game and a conversation pops up. Do they know how to respond safely? Here’s what to chat with them about beforehand:
• The people who send messages through online games and apps aren’t
always who they say they are.
• Some people send messages to try and trick kids into sharing personal
information.
• You never have to respond to a message while gaming or using an app.
• To stay safe, never tell anyone personal information, like your name,
age, location, or anything about your family.
• For every account you have, use strong, unique passwords and
multi-factor authentication.
• Don’t click unexpected links, even if they appear to come from a friend.
• Be cautious of free in-game currency, prizes or upgrades.
• If something doesn’t feel right, encourage your child to pause and check
with a trusted adult.
Parents, you can help safeguard your children too:
• Set up parental controls on the devices, apps and gaming platforms
your child uses.
• Download apps and make purchases only through official gaming
platforms.
Online safety is an ongoing conversation. For more tips on teaching children how to avoid online scams, visit the Canadian Bankers Association website at cba.ca

When Neighbours Help Neighbours, Communities Thrive
This Hunger Action Month, we're taking action against food insecurity because no one should have to choose between putting food on the table and meeting other basic needs.
The impact of neighbours helping neighbours is felt every day through the generosity of our members, team members, community partners, and local food banks.
This month, we're inviting our communities to participate in our Fill a Bag Fundraiser, making it easy to stock local food banks with nutritious food and essential items for those who need them most.
Here's how you can get involved:
- Participate in our Fill a Bag Fundraiser
- Make a monetary donation to The Full Cupboard
- Share this message and inspire others to take action
Visit the link in our bio if you'd like to donate 🔗
Together, we can help ensure everyone has access to nutritious food and build stronger, more caring communities.

How many personal details does it take to steal your identity? Scammers can do a lot of damage with a little information, so watch for these signs of fraud:
• Bills or credit cards you didn’t apply for
• Credit applications or decisions you don’t recognize
• Mail or account statements that suddenly stop arriving
• Calls from creditors or collection agencies about unfamiliar accounts
Save this post, and if you ever suspect your identity has been compromised, act quickly to:
• Contact your financial institution and credit card providers
• Report the incident to local police
• Contact Canada’s credit bureaus
• Consider adding a fraud alert for your credit files

It’s natural to be excited about a new job, but don’t let eagerness override your intuition. Employment scams are common and can start with fake job offers by text or email. They usually make big claims and may ask for personal information (like your SIN) early on—even before an interview.
Be cautious if you receive:
• An unsolicited job offer
• A promise of easy money
• A cheque you’re asked to deposit and send some of the money
elsewhere
• An opportunity that asks you to receive or transfer money through your
personal bank account
Before you accept any job offer, verify the job on the company’s official website and contact the company directly. Don’t share personal information or move money for someone you don’t know.

A call or notification on your phone asks, “Do you know who this is?” Before you answer, take a moment and don’t share any information.
“The Emergency Scam” is a common tactic used by fraudsters. It starts with someone pretending to be a grandchild or loved one in urgent trouble. They may ask for money and tell you to keep it a secret.
How to respond:
• Don’t share names or family details
• Hang up and call your loved one using a number you already know
• Confirm the story with another family member
• Never send cash, gift cards or a wire transfer to an unexpected caller
• Consider choosing a code word with your loved ones in advance

How do you verify a great investment opportunity? We all want to feel positive about opportunities to grow our savings—and guarantees of big returns or insider tips can be convincing. They’re also common tactics of scammers, so watch for:
• Promised high returns with little or no risk
• “Hot tips” or insider information
• Pressure to invest right away
• An unregistered advisor or firm
Before you invest, slow down. Check their registration at www.securities-administrators.ca/investor-tools/are-they-registered/, look for investor warnings [HM1.1]and take your time.
You don’t have to make financial decisions alone; talk to our advisors anytime to answer your questions and help you protect your money.

Our new banking technology and our refreshed brand has launched! With these types of digital updates, scammers may try to blend in with fake “help” calls, warning messages, or urgent-sounding emails impersonating a brand you trust.
Do these three things to protect your information:
1⃣ Contact us using our published channels or visit a branch to validate any suspicious calls or messages you receive. Call 1-888-597-6083.
2⃣ Keep your username, password, login and account credentials secret—we won’t ask for this information. And don’t provide a one-time verification code unless as part of confirming a call you've initiated to our Member Advice Centre.
3⃣ Be cautious of look-alike websites with our new (or former) brand visuals. Instead of clicking on links in web searches, type envisionfinancial.ca directly into your browser and bookmark our official site.
Let us know if you suspect fraud:
📧 If you see any suspicious message, report them to our Cyber Security team to take action at: [email protected].
📞 If you suspect you may have clicked on a suspicious link. Contact us using the official number above.
