We are official now!!!

The harvest has started! Flowers galore!

Purple hollyhocks, three different kinds of coreopsis, safflowers, black scabiosa, calendula, and more!

We are picking twice a week now.

We went to see a documentary on an Italian designer, Brunello: The Gracious Visionary, in Vancouver yesterday. It’s playing at the International Village on Pender.

On for a few more days. Highly recommended.

First spin World of Wool Tour de Fleece Mystery Challenge—just plain fun!!!

We had a visit from The Greater Vancouver Weavers and Spinners on Saturday.

Haunui fibre and a Marigold Dye Pot was the program for the day.

We had two raw fleeces and two washed fleeces to handle and talk about, and then an abundance of their available Top in different colours and microns. Many samples were spun!

Our Marigold Dye Bath was two pounds of
handpicked flowers from last year and gave us a lovely saturated colour.

The deer were watching and there were even a few fawn sightings.

At Coniagas Textiles a new sample has just come off the loom. We’ve been experimenting with combining different wild silks.

Wow! This fabric has exceeded all expectations. Many thanks to Alison who designed and wove this for us!

Just finished a very enjoyable workshop with Debbie Held hosted by Sweet Georgia and Sanjo Silks.

We explored blending with wild silks and many other fibres. Here are my mini samples!!!
