Once again Ridge Meadows Hospital's maternity ward is closed. This time from today, May 21st until monday, May 25th.

With today's maternity ward diversion being the 11th one since December 2025, it is hard for everyone to believe that this government is still unable to find an answer to this issue.

Due to a temporary gap in obstetrician-gynecologist coverage at Ridge Meadows Hospital, a maternity diversion will be in place from Thursday, May 21 at 8:00 a.m. until Monday, May 25 at 8:00 a.m.

If you are in labour or have a pregnancy concern, please call the Maternity Unit first. Our staff will direct you to the appropriate hospital for care.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Meadow Ridge School's Homecoming event to celebrate the school's wonderful initiatives and the people who make them happen. It was nice to see so many familiar faces while meeting so many new ones. I hope to see you all again next year.

This past weekend I had the privilege of speaking with the many women who were at the Mission and District Rod & Gun Club celebrating the club's 5th Annual 'Women Want to Shoot' event. It was wonderful getting to meet many of you and being able to share in such a fun occasion with you all.

It was great to meet so many people at the Ridge Meadows Home Show this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and wanted to share their thoughts on how to make this province and our community a better place to live. I look forward to seeing you all again at next year's Home Show.

Today marks the beginning of Asian Heritage Month. It is a month to take pride in one's traditions and culture for those that moved to Canada from across Asia.

My story is very similar to many Asian immigrants that came to Canada. I moved here from Singapore in 1988 to find a better life for my family. I quickly fell in love with BC and moved to Maple Ridge, finding work in the crane business to support my wife and two young children. I had to work hard to support my family, however, it was worth it to bring them to Canada and offer them greater opportunities.

Immigrants are the backbone of our country, and I am proud to be among the many Asian immigrants who contribute to making Canada and British Columbia the best place to live.
