ILLEGAL HOUSEHOLD WASTE DISPOSAL
No one wants to see garbage dumped in our parks, trails, or neighbourhoods.
Illegal dumping makes our community look neglected, attracts pests, creates health concerns, and ultimately leaves taxpayers paying the cleanup bill. Some locations have even become targets for commercial dumping.
What I’ve done:
• Worked with City staff to relocate and resize public garbage bins
• Installed additional warning signs
• Advocated for stronger penalties against illegal dumping
What needs continuous work:
Keeping our community clean requires everyone to play a part. I will continue promoting public education, especially through social media, and encouraging residents to report illegal dumping so offenders can be held accountable.
Together, we can Keep Markham Beautiful.

Improper DIY Tree Trimming & Home Modifications
Long waits for tree maintenance can create safety risks, DIY violations, and harm to our urban forest. Unpermitted home improvements—driveways, fences, basements and additions—can also lead to fines and costly restoration.
I pushed for increased City funding for tree maintenance and faster action on hazardous trees. I have also helped residents navigate permits, inspections and home improvements, working with the City to mitigate non-compliance and prevent costly problems.
Building on 8 years of dedicated service, Isa will continue responding to residents, promoting proper tree care and educating homeowners on permits and requirements—helping create a safer, better-maintained and more enjoyable community.

Joining the Canadian National Exhibition today was truly inspiring. I was honoured to be invited to the booth launch of the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada, whose commitment to serving diverse audiences continues to strengthen our social fabric. Their hard work, resilience, and passion ensure that every voice in our communities is heard and represented.
I also appreciate the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to explore additional support for ethnic media. Sustaining this sector is essential — it keeps our communities informed, connected, and empowered.
Grateful for today’s meaningful conversations, and hopeful that our ethnic media partners will continue to thrive for many years ahead.

🏎️ Honda Indy in Markham|My Simulator Driving Experience at Wraptitude!
Markham is buzzing with excitement as the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy arrives in our city for the very first time! Beyond the main event, I had the chance to try the Free Ride Simulator Experience at Wraptitude — and it was incredible.
Their simulator is built to replicate the exact Honda Indy Markham race path, so the moment you sit down, you’re fully immersed in the real IndyCar driving experience.
Feeling truly inspired at Unionville Milliken Soccer Club (UMSC) https://www.u-msc.com today.
MP Tim Hodgson and I visited the club and expressed a strong commitment to working together across all three levels of government to help UMSC grow with better facilities, improved venues, and long‑term support for our young athletes. Their dedication to equal access is deeply moving — especially through the High5 Program, which ensures children and youth in need can participate without barriers.
Developed by UMSC’s professional technical team, the High5 Program offers dynamic soccer sessions that inspire movement, build teamwork and communication, and strengthen skills in a safe, inclusive environment for players of every ability. With adaptive training and a low trainer‑to‑athlete ratio, every participant of all ages receives the focused support they need to grow, connect, and shine on the field.
UMSC continues to nurture incredible homegrown talent right here in Markham, Canada — all built with heart, community spirit, and a commitment to making soccer accessible for everyone.
