Canada’s diesel pioneer, up close. 🚂

Former Canadian Pacific 7077 was built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1948. It was the first **production diesel-electric locomotive built in Canada** and spent decades switching railcars, mainly around Toronto’s Lambton Yard.

Today, it’s preserved at Exporail in Saint-Constant, Québec. Pretty incredible to walk alongside a piece of Canadian railway history like this.

What’s your favourite preserved diesel?

Luka spotted something special at Exporail: CN 805, a GMD G8 built for Newfoundland’s narrow-gauge railway. Only six were built for CN’s Newfoundland service, and this one has been preserved for us to see today.

Here’s a slow walk-by of a locomotive with a story. Let’s keep railway history alive. 🚂

Ridin’ dirty… through history. 😎🚋

We hopped aboard a vintage streetcar at Exporail, rolled past old stations, classic railcars and a few rusty beauties—then headed back to the crib.

Keeping railway history alive, one ride at a time.

They gave us an authorized sneak peek inside an absolute treasure trove of Canadian railway history. 🚂

From weathered survivors waiting for their next chapter to beautifully restored locomotives, cabooses, passenger cars and the legendary Royal Hudson 2860—the Railway Museum of British Columbia in Squamish is packed with discoveries.

Railfans: put this one on your bucket list.

100 videos. Countless trains. One ridiculously happy railfan. 🚂

Our official 100th Track Side Threads video had to include fast freight, a train meet, Luka hearing another horn—and me dancing in a train shirt with absolutely zero shame. 😂

This is why we railfan.

Our Adirondack adventure ends at historic Thendara Station—with a look inside, a little gift-shop wandering, and some serious locomotive beauty before heading back to Utica. 🚂

Four parts. One unforgettable rail adventure.

Yes, I absolutely got down on the floor to feel the rumble. 😂

From the vintage cars and open-air views to the full sensory experience, this is what riding the Adirondack Railroad from Utica to Thendara felt like.

One last Adirondack moment to come… 🚂

All aboard! 🚂 Part 2 of our Adirondack Adventure takes us across the bridge, onto the train and out of Utica Union Station.

The open-air car quickly became one of our favourite spots—and we even met fellow railfan -Mohawk-DistrictRF06 onboard!

Next stop: the Adirondacks. 🌲

Every great rail adventure needs a starting point—and ours was Utica Union Station. 🚂

Opened in 1914, its massive waiting room features a 47-foot vaulted ceiling, 34 marble columns and even heated benches. It feels like stepping straight into the golden age of rail travel.

This is Part 1 of our Adirondack Adventure.
Next: All aboard!

We chased this baby from Thurso to Masson, Quebec. Train chasing...so fun. 😂 From Thurso to Masson, the pursuit was officially on.
