Psalm 36:1-12 AMP
Transgression speaks [like an oracle] to the wicked (godless) [deep] within his heart; There is no fear (dread) of God before his eyes. [2] For he flatters and deceives himself in his own eyes Thinking that his sinfulness will not be discovered and hated [by God]. [3] The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; He has ceased to be wise and to do good. [4] He plans wrongdoing on his bed; He sets himself on a path that is not good; He does not reject or despise evil. [5] Your lovingkindness and graciousness, O LORD, extend to the skies, Your faithfulness [reaches] to the clouds. [6] Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast. [7] How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. [8] They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You allow them to drink from the river of Your delights. [9] For with You is the fountain of life [the fountain of life-giving water]; In Your light we see light. [10] O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart. [11] Do not let the foot of the proud [person] overtake me, And do not let the hand of the wicked drive me away. [12] There those who [are perverse and] do evil have fallen; They have been thrust down and cannot rise.

Romans 1:8-17 AMP
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith [your trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness] is being proclaimed in all the world. [9] For God, whom I serve with my spirit by preaching the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how continuously I mention you [10] in my prayers; always pleading that somehow, by God’s will, I may now at last come to you. [11] For I long to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift, to strengthen and establish you; [12] that is, that we may be mutually encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. [13] I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that many times I have planned to come to you, (and have been prevented so far) so that I may have some fruit [of my labors] among you, even as I have among the rest of the Gentiles. [14] I have a duty to perform and a debt to pay both to Greeks and to barbarians [the cultured and the uncultured], both to the wise and to the foolish. [15] So, for my part, I am ready and eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome. [16] I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior], to the Jew first and also to the Greek. [17] For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, “THE JUST and UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

Luke 6:46-49 AMP
“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not practice what I tell you? [47] Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them, I will show you whom he is like: [48] he is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock. [49] But the one who has [merely] heard and has not practiced [what I say], is like a [foolish] man who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and the torrent burst against it; and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Matthew 10:24-39 AMP
“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a bond-servant above his master. [25] It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the bond-servant like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul (Satan), how much more [will they speak evil of] the members of his household. [26] “So do not be afraid of them, for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed [at the judgment], or kept secret that will not be made known [at the judgment]. [27] What I say to you in the dark (privately), tell in the light (publicly); and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops [to many people]. [28] Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. [29] Are not two little sparrows sold for a copper coin? And yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. [30] But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge]. [31] So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. [32] “Therefore, the one who confesses and acknowledges Me before men [as Lord and Savior, affirming a state of oneness with Me], that one I will also confess and acknowledge before My Father who is in heaven. [33] But the one who denies and rejects Me before men, that one I will also deny and reject before My Father who is in heaven. [34] “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword [of division between belief and unbelief]. [35] For I have come to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; [36] and A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS [own] HOUSEHOLD [when one believes and another does not]. [37] “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. [38] And he who does not take his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] is not worthy of Me. [39] Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity].

Psalm 23:1-6 AMP
The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. [2] He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. [3] He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. [4] Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows. [6] Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the LORD.

Mark 7:14-23 AMP
After He called the people to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen [carefully] to Me, all of you, [hear] and understand [what I am saying]: [15] there is nothing outside a man [such as food] which by going into him can defile him [morally or spiritually]; but the things which come out of [the heart of] a man are what defile and dishonor him. [16] [If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”] [17] When Jesus had left the crowd and gone into the house, His disciples asked Him about the parable. [18] And He said to them, “Are you, too, so foolish and lacking in understanding? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile and dishonor him, [19] since it does not enter his heart, but [only] his stomach, and [from there it] is eliminated?” (By this, He declared all foods ceremonially clean.) [20] And He said, “Whatever comes from [the heart of] a man, that is what defiles and dishonors him. [21] For from within, [that is] out the heart of men, come base and malevolent thoughts and schemes, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, adulteries, [22] acts of greed and covetousness, wickedness, deceit, unrestrained conduct, envy and jealousy, slander and profanity, arrogance and self-righteousness and foolishness (poor judgment). [23] All these evil things [schemes and desires] come from within and defile and dishonor the man.”

Psalm 68:17-23 AMP
The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as He was at Sinai, in holiness. [18] You have ascended on high, You have led away captive Your captives; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious also, that the LORD God may dwell there. [19] Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burden day by day, The God who is our salvation! Selah. [20] God is to us a God of acts of salvation; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death [setting us free]. [21] Surely God will shatter the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of one who goes on in his guilty ways. [22] The Lord said, “I will bring your enemies back from Bashan; I will bring them back from the depths of the [Red] Sea, [23] That your foot may crush them in blood, That the tongue of your dogs may have its share from your enemies.”

Psalm 105:1-22 AMP
O give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the people. [2] Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonderful acts and devoutly praise them. [3] Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the LORD [as their most essential need] rejoice. [4] Seek and deeply long for the LORD and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. [5] Remember [with awe and gratitude] the wonderful things which He has done, His amazing deeds and the judgments uttered by His mouth [on His enemies, as in Egypt], [6] O you offspring of Abraham, His servant, O you sons of Jacob, His chosen ones! [7] He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. [8] He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded and established to a thousand generations, [9] The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His sworn oath to Isaac, [10] Which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, [11] Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan As the measured portion of your inheritance.” [12] When there were only a few men in number, Very few [in fact], and strangers in it; [13] And they wandered from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people, [14] He allowed no man to oppress them; He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, [15] “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.” [16] And He called for a famine upon the land [of Egypt]; He cut off every source of bread. [17] He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. [18] His feet they hurt with shackles; He was put in chains of iron, [19] Until the time that his word [of prophecy regarding his brothers] came true, The word of the LORD tested and refined him. [20] The king sent and released him, The ruler of the peoples [of Egypt], and set him free. [21] He made Joseph lord of his house And ruler of all his possessions, [22] To imprison his princes at his will, That he might teach his elders wisdom.

1 Corinthians 15:27-34 AMP
For HE (the Father) HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS (Christ’s) FEET. But when He says, “All things have been put in subjection [under Christ],” it is clear that He (the Father) who put all things in subjection to Him (Christ) is excepted [since the Father is not in subjection to His own Son]. [28] However, when all things are subjected to Him (Christ), then the Son Himself will also be subjected to the One (the Father) who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all [manifesting His glory without any opposition, the supreme indwelling and controlling factor of life]. [29] Otherwise, what will those do who are being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people even baptized for them? [30] [For that matter] why are we [running such risks and putting ourselves] in danger [nearly] every hour [if there is no resurrection]? [31] I assure you, believers, by the pride which I have in you in [your union with] Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily [I face death and die to self]. [32] What good has it done me if, [merely] from a human point of view, I fought with wild animals at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised [at all], LET US EAT AND DRINK [enjoying ourselves now], FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. [33] Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” [34] Be sober-minded [be sensible, wake up from your spiritual stupor] as you ought, and stop sinning; for some [of you] have no knowledge of God [you are disgracefully ignorant of Him, and ignore His truths]. I say this to your shame.

Ephesians 2:1-10 AMP
And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, [2] in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God]. [3] Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. [4] But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, [5] even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment). [6] And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus, [7] [and He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] show the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption]. [8] For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; [9] not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. [10] For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
