On July 21st we set up a hands on CPR/AED station at Lakelse Lake during the “Learn to be in Nature” event. I didn’t expect the overwhelming joy in my heart when children as young as 4 were using the AED and preforming CPR. We left with our cups and bellies full (the food was fantastic!). Thank you to the organizers, vendors and volunteers for all the time and energy they put into making this event so memorable. Thank you to Willow who spent the day with me rocking demonstrations, giving feedback and answering questions. Empowering people to recognize cardiac arrest and act is invaluable and literally saves lives. It truly is an important and informative hands on event. I hope we see you all next year! What a fun day of hands on skills for our local high school. At least 50 students got a crash course in CPR (and loads of other great skills). Hopefully we all inspired some future First Responders!
