It can be soooo sneaky! Your inner critic masks as this ‘sophisticated’ part of you that can be very convincing.

“Don’t send that email because what if they don’t respond”

“Don’t go to that audition because you’re not ready and everyone is ahead of you”

“Don’t ask them out for coffee because why on earth would they say yes”

Sounds like good-ish advice? 😬

🆘 That is your inner critic 🆘 They’re very sleek and persuasive. But they’re trying to convince you to play small.

The inner critic isn’t trying to be a jerk. It’s trying to keep you “safe”, and avoid discomfort. Nice in theory, I guess, but listening to it guarantees we will never leave the comfort zone. And we MUST leave the comfort zone to play bigger and create the lives we deeply desire.

Please don’t listen. Send the email. Go to the audition. Ask them for coffee.

Playing bigger feels scary, I know! But it’s time to stop believing everything your inner critic says.
