My September 11th story. Never forget.💙

I flew in to NYC on the evening of September 10. I was in my late 20’s and worked for Hyatt Hotels. I had appointments and events planned for the next few days. I woke up the next morning, showered, had breakfast and started heading out to start my day. As the elevator doors opened to the lobby I could tell the mood was different but I didn’t know why. I exited the hotel and that’s when I heard what was happening. I froze. I was in shock and scared. I went back up to my room, sat on the edge of the bed and cried and cried. The city shutdown. Like most, I wasn’t able to get home. Days later, once the city opened up, my husband drove to NYC to pick me up. I was happy and relieved to see him and longing to get home. The drive back to Toronto was quiet. I was sad and drained. It was all too much to process.

I was the lucky one. Thinking of so many lives and families who were forever changed that day. 💙

Thank you Arts On Queen for selling out my collection of Barcode rounds. So happy that they are making people happy! The best. ❤️
More coming soon-ish..

Barcode initials anyone? This was a commissioned piece I created a while back for a family who wanted to include their initial into the artwork. Loved this idea. Can you guess the initial?

In 2013 we lost everything in a flood. This was our street. Our home was on the right, directly across the street from a creek. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with the aftermath of last night storm. The next day I found this post it note on our mailbox, that I still have to this day. ❤️

My heart is full. I dropped off 7 pieces at Arts on Queen on Monday. On Wednesday I received this beautiful message that 4 of my pieces were sold and they brought someone so much happiness. For me, this is genuinely what it’s all about.❤️

❤️ RIP Dolly Parton
