Disability Gives

After sharing appreciation and handing out hearts to nurses, security guards, caretakers and volunteers at Holland Bloorview, Bloorview school students received “it’s cool to be kind” GivingTuesday Canada participation badges 🙌

"How these two found each other is a miracle. And proof that life is full of surprises. Billy is a malignant brain cancer survivor, and my Matt has many disability labels. But above all, they just click. And I pray that after their graduation on Saturday, they can keep the magic going."

We spend most of our weekends waving at streetcars on Dundas Street hoping drivers will ring their bell for Simon. On Sunday, while Simon and his dad were waving at streetcars, one stopped and the driver jumped out and gave Simon a train set! Brett the driver has a nephew who is non verbal and he remembers Simon from his many other waving sessions. He had it waiting on the streetcar in hopes of running into us. We were so touched! Simon knows how to sign thank you to the drivers. Thank you Brett the driver and all the other drivers who ring their bells for Simon.
