One of the Prince Edward Island paramedics who died in an ambulance crash earlier this week is being remembered as a loving daughter and trusted coworker.

Jenna Croucher, 23, was among three people who died Tuesday in the collision between the emergency vehicle and a transport truck on a New Brunswick highway, west of the Confederation Bridge.

The paramedic’s father, P.E.I. Education Minister Robin Croucher, said Friday his daughter was a “rare beacon of light” who had the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.

About 120 paramedics in New Brunswick have volunteered to fill in for their colleagues in Prince Edward Island who are grieving the loss of two emergency workers.

Two P.E.I. paramedics and a patient died when their ambulance collided with a transport truck in rural New Brunswick on Tuesday, not far from Confederation Bridge.

Chris Hood, director of the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, says his members will be issued 30-day courtesy licences in P.E.I. so they can volunteer on the Island during their time off.

Taber has won Kraft Hockeyville 2026.

A southern Alberta community that lost its only two ice rinks after a Zamboni explosion has been named the Kraft Hockeyville 2026 winner.

Taber, Alta., was one of two finalists, along with Tumbler Ridge, B.C., vying for the prize this year, which comes with $250,000 for arena upgrades.

The winner was determined by online voting that took place over Friday and Saturday, and was announced by National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman during Sportsnet’s "Hockey Night in Canada" broadcast on Saturday night.
