There’s a reason for everything 😬

Your brain was never meant to stay in constant prediction mode. All that replaying conversations, anticipating outcomes, and treating uncertainty like danger all day long has got to END! Especially since your brain thinks yours problem solving, except you aren’t šŸ˜“

As a therapist who works heavily with anxiety and overthinking, I help people understand these patterns and learn how to quiet the mental spiral instead of obeying it.

And I’m currently accepting clients! šŸ¤—

thinking about it harder at 1am is probably not going to unlock the life-changing clarity you think it will.

Learning how to stop treating uncertainty like an emergency is the work we do in therapy.

For some people, being seen feels like an exposure.

So what do you do? You downplay yourself, and stay quiet to avoid the spotlight.

From a clinical perspective this is deeper than a ā€œconfidence issueā€. It’s a learned behavior that visibility = unsafe.

And that’s something that can be unlearned, with a trained licensed therapist.

So, if this resonates, it’s a pattern we can work through together.

Asking for input can be helpful.
But when you need multiple opinions before deciding, it can start to erode your trust in your own judgment.

Confidence isn’t always knowing the perfect choice, it’s trusting that you can handle the outcome.

If you want to work on building that trust in yourself, that’s something we can do in therapy šŸ’›

Sorry for asking. Sorry for speaking. Sorry for taking up time or space...

Over time, saying ā€˜sorry’ becomes automatic. And it’s not because you’re overly polite, but because your nervous system learned that shrinking yourself kept things smoother or safer. 🄲

The work isn’t becoming rude or demanding.
It’s learning that your presence doesn’t require an apology.
If you’re trying to break patterns like this, it’s something we can absolutely work on in therapy.

Your brain hates uncertainty.

When someone goes quiet, the amygdala can jump in and try to fill the gap with the worst-case explanation: ā€œthey’re upset with me, I offended them, something is wrong.ā€

Because your brain is trying to predict social threat and keep you safe.

The problem is that it can start treating neutral silence as danger, which keeps you stuck overanalyzing every interaction.

Learning to pause before believing that story can change a lot about how you move through relationships.

If this is something you deal with often, it’s a pattern we can actually work through in therapy.

Learning how to interrupt that loop and let your brain stand down is a skill. And when people learn it, their mind gets a lot quieter at night.

If this is something you deal with often, it’s absolutely something we can work through in therapy.

Decoding their tone of voice is an overthinking favourite thing to do 😩

But imagine this shift:
What would change if you could take someone’s reaction as neutral… or simply reflective of them and their mood?
